My experience with Shannon was nothing short of incredibly from day #1!!

Our first visit incuded a conversation about my values, what I was looking for in a doula, my vision for labour and what supports I anticipated needing. I had choosen a non medicated delivery this time around, which Shannon helped me prepare for by offering ideas of pain management techniques, explaining the stages of labour and providing ease and comfort when I swayed from my initial de.

After our initial meeting, I was spoiled by Shannon with goodies and treats and, more importantly, words of encouragement and daily check ins to see how I was feeling both physically and emotionally. I was able to contact her at any time to answer the millions of questions that I had and she always responded promptly and professionally.

During my actual delivery, Shannon and Melissa were both absolute life savers. They held space for me as I laboured, worked cohesively with all of the hospital staff, attended to my needs both physically and emotionally and provided loads of gentle encouragement. Because of them, I was able to go through with my birth plan just as I had hoped. They were there throughout the entire thing and stayed with me to offer support and comfort afterwards.

Throughout the weeks following the birth of my son, Shannon continued to check in with me and offer support, answer more questions, calm any fears I had and even dropped off more delicious and healthy meals!!

I feel incredibly grateful that I was able to have Shannon and Melissa's support throughout one of the most important times in my life. I was comforted knowing that I had constant support and that if I needed anything at all, all I needed to do was ask. My experience was unlike any other because of these two phenomenal women! xoxo

Shannon is amazing!  This was my second pregnancy and I knew I wanted a doula this time around.  As a doula student myself, I knew that support is a must during and after pregnancy and knowing that I had Shannon by my side brought a lot of comfort to me. Whenever I had questions, Shannon was always open and never judgemental.

Shannon remained in close contact throughout my pregnancy with regular check-ins and as we approached my due date, she was checking in every day.  asking how I was feeling emotionally and physically. and even asking how she can support my husband.  She was available 24/7 and even told me to call her after 11pm if I needed to talk.

When I went into labour (2 weeks early), my husband called Shannon and she came right over.  Because my labour was fast, she stayed a few hours after my baby was born along with her trainee to make sure that we were all ok and waited until we were ready to be on our own before she left.

In the weeks after my baby was born, Shannon would come by and see how I was feeling emotionally and made regular deliveries that included food (with was delish!) to help fuel me as well as help with my milk supply.  Shannon and her trainee, Ashley were really a huge support and continue to be there when I need some friendly advice.

As a first time father you can never be fully prepared for when that time comes. When my wife started to feel discomfort at home, instead of panicking, I was able to ask Shannon questions, describe how my wife was feeling, and get the feedback I needed, right away. Shannon was a great resource who got back to me immediately with very insightful answers. We greatly appreciate how peaceful and relaxing she made the whole process for us.

Thank you Shannon,

Shannon provided me with 6 weeks of postpartum support (my first pregnancy) along with online correspondence during the 3rd trimester of my pregnancy. The pre-birth support came at a great time; my mom passed away when I was 30 weeks pregnant and I felt like I had lost the one person I could ask all of the awkward questions to and could talk to about anything. Shannon gave me an outlet to ask anything about what my body was doing or what I was feeling - and I had a lot to ask! She also talked me through what to try when I had Braxton Hicks at 33 weeks and had no idea if what I was feeling was normal. It was a relief being able to talk to someone about it in the midst of my panic!

She also provided post-birth support to me both online and during home visits. She dropped off meals and snacks which came in so handy on those nights when I had been so focused on the baby that I forgot to eat! The best part of the home visits for me was the chance to talk about and process the birth experience. Everything is so crazy and your adrenaline is pumping so much at the time that I found it hard to take it all in. Getting the chance to sit down and talk about it afterwards was really helpful; it really made me stop and appreciate what my body had just gone through. I was in awe of the whole thing all over again.

Through it all, the most important thing Shannon told me was to listen to my body. Even though I didn't know what to expect with delivery (especially with it being my first), she reassured me that my body is made to do this and it will know what to do. She couldn't have been more right; it's amazing what the human body is capable of.

I would recommend Shannon for postpartum support for anyone who wants to have someone there for them who is easy to talk to and really "gets it". Its a time of change and adjustment and having someone to talk to who has gone through it all is very comforting.

Shannon is an amazing person inside and out. throughout the pregnancy and birth of my daughter Shannon was not juts a dula to us but a friend. Through the prgnancy we had so many worries and questions, Shannon was alway there to answer them and ease our minds. Shannon has a relaxed,  down to earth demeanour that is comforting when going through such an emotional time. After birth was more then we could ever ask for. First off Shannon is an amazing cook. Her healthy breast feeding friendly meals we're delishous. the fresh squeezed juice dropped off on the morning is exactly what you need to boost your energy after a night of breastfeeding. I will always remember one particular morning after a very rough night, Shannon had dropped off amazingly delishous and healthy waffles to my door step. I literally cried when I saw them I was so hungry and tired and the thought of making breakfast was not even an option.

My daughter is now 4 months old and Shannon is always just an email away when I have a question.

Hands down I highly recommend Shannon for any of her dula services and I am very excited for my next dula experience with Shannon.

Shannon came to me after the birth of my son to help me with my post-partum. I am a single mother of a now 6 week old boy and her support has been amazing. Her first visit she just sat and let me cry and then shared her own story. After which I realized I was not alone. I was not the first person to feel the way I did. I was not being a 'bad mom'. She was always just a text message away. The food deliveries were always a wonderful surprise and absolutely delicious and appreciated. She is so knowledgable and if I had a question that she couldn't answer she found the answer for me. She always asked how I was feeling and not just about the baby. She always asked what I needed to feel better and did her best to provide it. She has lots of suggestions and resources to help get me through a difficult time. She is supportive of my bad days and proud of my good days. I am very lucky to have her and would/have recommended her to anyone. Thank you for everything you do Shannon and thank you for being you! Connor and I are lucky to have you in our lives!
