Natalie was very accessible and helpful before labor in helping us understand what to expect in the labor process. It was reassuring for us to know that we had that we had access to someone who could comfort us and answer any of our questions whether during our prenatal sessions or via phone or text. As first time parents we had peace of mind knowing that someone with labor experience would be supporting us thorughout the entire process. Natalie worked well with my doctor and even came to one of my prenatal appointments with me to meet him and talk about his birth approach and make sure they were on the same page.
During labor Natalie was invaluable in supporting my husband by suggesting ways he could make me more comfortable. She had a wonderful bag of tools with massagers and warm compresses that provided additional comfort and pain relief. Natalie gently encouraged my husband to question several routine medical procedures that turned out to not be necessary for my situation. Most importantly, Natalie instinctively knew when to take the lead and when to step back and support my husband. We were comfortable having her in the room with us because she never intruded in our space unnecessarily, which allowed my husband and I to share the intimiate experience of labor together. We were grateful to have Natalie part of our labor experience.
Natalie was an incredible person to have by our side during labor. She has a very calm demeanor, but knew when it was appropriate to assert herself, gently but firmly suggesting different things. She patiently sat by me for hours while I was in the tub, pouring warm water over me and talking me through each contraction. She was also a huge support to my husband and really took the pressure off him feeling like he had to know how to support me. I also appreciated her help in talking through how to handle my family members who wanted to be part of the labor and helping us think through what to say to them ahead of time, etc. I'd recommend her to anyone!
We decided on short order to have a doula attend the birth of our first daughter.
We meet with Natalie a couple of weeks before my due date in January this year.
After just one meeting we knew we wanted Natalie to be our doula and were glad that she had the time to be with us.
She answered all of our questions and eased my fear about labor and pain.
She has a very warm, calm and friendly personality which is just what you need when things start to get going.
We were very happy that Natalie was there to support us on this long journey since the birth took around 36 hours.
She was super attentive the whole time and did everything she could to make me feel comfortable and helped me cope with massive back labor since our baby was posterior.
I highly recommend Natalie as a doula for every one and will definitely call her again for our next child.
Thank you for an awesome job and till we meet again...
