Sarah provided everything I could imagine for a holistic birth experience. First, she is a good listener, who actually heard my concerns and was able to determine the root of what I wanted/needed to know. Second, she is knowledgeable without being arrogant. If she didn’t  know an answer, she responded timely with credible sources. Third, she is responsive in general. Never dismissive. Fourth, she is culturally sensitive. I never felt nervous or apprehensive about opening my home or life up to her. Fifth, she has amazing bedside manner and knows how to talk to people. She never seemed “in the way” during labor and took my preferences seriously. Further, she was able to infer my preferences in the moment by being attentive and aware. I haven’t had such a good experience since and I would be surprised if I ever do! We are forever greatful!

We had a wonderful experience with Sarah Michelson and would highly recommend her. We utilized Sarah's doula services for our first child and loved the experience. A doula gave us an extra level of comfort. Sarah was well education, open, honest, always available, and provided a lot of useful material. It was so nice to be able to reach out to her at anytime with questions or concerns. She always made us feel better and was very supportive. It was also wonderful having her as part of the birthing expeirence as she gave my husband and I sense of peace, helped us check into the hospital, and provided great support during the birth. We loved working with her and having a doula and would hire her for our next child!

I cannot imagine my birth without Sarah. She is a truly calming force with a ton of knowledge, passion and supportive encouragment. I came to my birth experience with the hope that no matter what happened, I would feel empowered and Sarah made sure I met that goal. I highly recommend Sarah. She doesn't make decisions for you, but gives you all of the current reseach and options and then makes sure you make an informed decision that you feel comfortable with. My birth was a hugely memorable, beautiful experience and I just can't thank her enough. Thank you again, Sarah. I am so happy to have hired you!

Words fall short to describe the support Sarah provided my family during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period.  I felt like I was in the delivery room with a good friend who was also a childbirth expert.  She supported me completely during labor, delivery, and postpartum, was a fantastic coach during labor and delivery, and was pivotal in helping my son and I develop a breastfeeding relationship.  Sarah is reliable, professional, knowledable, and warm.  My labor and delivery experience this time around (second baby) felt much different than the first, and it is largely due to Sarah.  I felt strong because Sarah was my advocate.  I felt relaxed because I knew Sarah was focused on honoring my birth plan.  I felt safe and secure because of Sarah's encouragment and expertise.  She provided multi-dimensional support to my family, and for that, we are eternally grateful.

Sarah had a vital role in my birth story.  We hired her for medical support, emotional support, and as an advocate.  My husband was the one to push for a doula/midwife.  He wanted someone level headed, not emotionally involved, who could explain our medical options and also tell him "this is normal" or "this is an emergency."

My husband and I interviewed many doulas and knew immediately Sarah was the support we needed.  When I asked her thoughts on vitamin K shot, Sarah stated, "well, I'm happy to show you the research and help you understand what you're reading."  Sold.  Evidence based.  I knew I could have my birth plan as healthy as possible.

We received prenatal support and Sarah made all the awkward questions comfortable and offered to go with us every time I ended up in the emergency maternity center.  She was very sensitive to my personal medical history and emotional trauma from miscarrying our son the year prior.

During the actual labor process, Sarah shined.  I do not think we would have the same story without her.  During labor, I had a HORRIBLE experience with a medical professional who stepped WAY out of bounds.  Sarah made sure I was safe and had a private conversation and asked for someone new.  Her advocacy kept me calm, kept my husband by my side, and insured safety for the baby and me. She offered the perfect amount of side-line support while my husband was the front runner.  There were moments I forgot she was there, until I needed her.  We thank God for her support and will use her again for every birth the Lord gives us.

If you are looking for a level headed, evidence-based, highly educated, peaceful and calm person, one who can be your main support or can support your partner, you need Sarah.  She is worth every penny.

I can't imagine my birth experience without Sarah there. They were the calming voice and in-control energy I needed when I started to lose control. Sarah helped  my partner feel like he knew what to do to be a good support person for me. They worked well in the hospital setting where I delivered, and when they almost had to catch the baby because no nurses or doctors were in the room, I had complete trust that I was in good hands.

Sarah was essential in not only helping my wife have the birth experience she wanted, but in helping me have a role at the birth I could comfortably settle into. From most accounts I've heard it's rarely easy to be the husband in the room, and with Sarah I was relaxed through the entire process and fully able to be the emotional support my wife needed. Our son was born at the Birth and Wellness Center, so we were already surrounded by nurse midwives who could provide the natural birth experience we desired for wife and baby, but even so having Sarah as our doula provided a line of clear communication between both parties and she was able to give us emotional support during more intense moments when the midwives needed to focus. Births can be confusing and sometimes surreal--it was great to have someone who could offer some perspective and also to answer any lingering questions about the experience. I believe doulas are necessary for all mothers and birth partners, and I can't recommend Sarah highly enough for the job.

Sarah was absolutely spectacular! This was my fifth birth, but really the first I felt absolutely complete after. It was a perfect experience and Sarah helped transform my dream birth into a reality. They were able to help me with advocating my birth plan, pain management, encouragement, suggesting positions during labor and keeping me focused. They even jumped in to help with our older kids a few times. I don't think it would have been the same without them and I'm so grateful they were by my side. <3

My husband and I knew very quickly that we wanted Sarah to be our doula. We had a csection with our first and wanted a doula who was supportive and encouraging of our choice to have a VBAC with our second. Sarah fit the bill. Any questions we had she was eager to answer. She was always so warm and loving. When the night came Sarah was quick to come to our house. We labored there for a few hours and then she advised it was time to head to the hospital. She decided to ride in the car with us. We got to the hospital and she always stayed right by my side. During contractions she coached me and told me how strong I was. She was incredible. After 6 hours of labor/pushing we achieved our VBAC!!  I can't say enough about our experience and how Sarah helped us Reach it. She has continued to check on us and be the emotional support I was really hoping for in a doula. Thanks so much for everything, Sarah! ??

I couldn't recommend anyone more and I cannot imagine my birth experience without Sarah. The hospital treatment was rather traumatic for me, so having Sarah to hold my hand (literally. I am actually surprised I didn't injure her) through the process was invaluable. Sarah really gets me and was so supportive and non-judgemental. When the hospital staff made me feel crazy Sarah me feel sane. When none of the standard recommendations helped me through contractions, Sarahs suggestions worked. When the hospital had me on my back pushing the baby against gravity, Sarah recommended a more natural position for me. She advocated for me to have the natural birth I wanted. I cannot imagine going through that without her.
