Alise was amazing! She provided us with so much information before the birth and during. I especially loved her positive, consistent, and humorous attitude during our birth. I would highly recommend Alise to anyone who wants a guide or coach to walk them through the birth process.

When I found out I was pregnant, I was excited and frankly, scared.  I'd heard a number of amazing stories and some horror stories as it pertained to giving birth.  My husband and I made the decision that we would enlist the help of a doula and it was one of the best decisions we'd ever made.  Having a doula that met our emotional and spiritual ideals was of critical importance to us.  When we met Alise, it was clear she'd be a good match for us.  She was patient, friendly, encouraging, and prayerful.

Having a coach, guide, advocate and master of hospital terms during child birth was incredible.  When the world goes dark and all you can think about is your baby and the PAIN, that advocate that is yours and not the hospital's is priceless.  I distinctly remember looking to her at least 50 times to guide me, hold my hand, pray for me, give me reassurance, and more.  I can't imagine having given birth to our sweet girl without her!

And let's not forget all of the conversations in between saying "Yes, I need a doula" to "Meet your baby."  As a first time mom, I had so many questions!  Is this labor? Is this normal?  How long will this take?  Why does my back hurt?  Each and every question Alise answered patiently and with love.

I cannot recommend Alise Marsh highly enough.

My husband & I hired Alise for the birth of our son and it was seriously the best investment we could have made. We knew she was the perfect person to be with us after meeting her- she knows how to make you feel cared for right away. She made it clear that she would support our decisions and provide unbiased data to help us make our own choices without judgement. Our private birth class with her was fun & gave us an arsenal of techniques we could use to help me cope with labor. Alise was also available for any questions we had along the way.

I work as a NICU RN and see many complicated births. I was hyperaware of the need for immediate access to medical care if problems arose but I also wanted to minimize interventions & have a positive birth experience. Having Alise there to support us in our hospital birth really gave us the best of both worlds.

We ended up being induced for post-dates and I was nervous that I wouldn't be able to cope with induced labor without drugs/epidural & knew that being induced increased our chances of having interventions I didn't want. We had a gentle induction and kept in touch with Alise along the way. She was available to be there whenever we needed her. Alise came to the hospital to check in on us and stayed nearby when she suspected things might start to ramp up. Labor kicked in fast and furious and I was quickly overwhelmed with the pain and struggled to cope until she (quickly) arrived. She immediately provided hands-on comfort measures, encouragement, reassurance & helped guide my husband in supporting me. She gave us ideas throughout labor for comfort and to aid in labor progress. After an intense 14 hour labor, our beautiful boy was born into my arms. Our birth goals were met largely thanks to Alise's support and I look back on our birth feeling thankful & empowered and with the best memories. Alise was worth her weight in gold- we would never want to do it again without her!

Having Alise be apart of our son's birth was the biggest blessing to us. Throughout the pregnancy and birth process she becomes a friend and a part of your family. The genuine love she has for what she does is apparent in every interaction you have with her. In a time that is filled with so many unknowns she is a calming, encouraging and knowledgeble presence And support. we feel so grateful that we were able to have Alise take the journey of our first pregnancy and birth with us And would highly reccomend her to anyone looking for a Doula to go through this amazing journey into parenthood with them!

Alise was my doula with my first baby.  She provided great insight prior to labor; helping with our birth plan, providing information on what to expect, and providing resources for breastfeeding and postpartum care.

It was a long process after being induced but Alise was by my side the entire time. She was very flexible considering the length of our labor. It was great to have someone in the room who knew what I wanted and respected it. She is the advocate any mother should have in the room with her!

As a first time mom it was great to have someone with the resources and knowledge to help me make decisions about the birth of our son.  She provided information on topics I would otherwise not have known I had a choice about.  Her followup postpartum made me feel cared about.
