Stephanie went above and beyond as our post-partum doula. She handled our twins with great love and care. It was especially helpful as we transitioned to a new family of four to have her guidance and support. We are so grateful for Stephanie and would highly recommend her!
I cannot speak highly enough about Stephanie and our experience working with her for the birth of our daughter. Stephanie was knowledgeable, compassionate, fun and such a wonderful person to have with us at such an exciting and vulnerable time as giving birth to our first child. My husband and I wanted someone who could keep us calm, help me through the process of having a natural birth and provide us with additional support in the days and weeks to follow. Stephanie went above and beyond in all areas. Our meetings with her before the birth were casual and fun but also informative and productive. Her presence and guidance during my labor allowed me to succeed in my goal of having a natural birth. Her lactation support and knowledge and just general comfort and loving advice and support in the weeks following our daughters birth meant the world to me and truly helped with the anxiety provoking adjustment to new motherhood. We love Stephanie and can't wait to have her as our doula again!
I would highly recommend Stephanie and her team to anyone who is looking for care/help either pre or postpartum. Stephanie is very friendly, caring, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. As an extremely anxious new mother, Stephanie was very comforting to me and took amazing care of me and my baby girl. She was willing to switch her schedule based on my needs and made our lives 100% better during those first few very difficult months when transitioning to new parenthood. I would highly recommend her!
After meeting/interviewing a few doulas, I knew I found the ones when I met Stephanie, and her partner, Ashleigh. I was refered to Stephanie by a friend --- you have to trust your friends, right?
Stephanie and Ashleigh were the perfect team for me. They were the ying and yang to all the concerns and needs I had as a new expecting mom. Stephanie was patient and knowledgable when she helped create my birth plan. Oh, and she was the total hero in the hospital when my 28+ hr labor ended in a cesarean. She kept my husband as calm as she could and was quick to remind us of our options. And she totally went above and beyond, staying to some ungodly hour waiting for us to get settled in the new room after baby's arrival. Postpardum, she was super helpful in answering breastfeeding and pumping questions when they arose.
Even husband says that he couldn't have imagined having to go through the whole birthing process without a doula. I completely agree!
I was very happy with Stephanie from the first time we met. I had three different doulas I was interviewing and it was very hard to find the right one. This would be my first attempt at a natural birth and it is such an emotional situation. Stephanie made sure she spent as much time as my husband and I needed when she came to our home for our first “before birth” meeting. Finding a time that worked for us was not easy and she kept the conversation going over txt’s as I scheduled and rescheduled our meetings.
We were not able to have a VBA. Stephanie would be there at the hospital with me and my husband for the C-section/birth of our son. It was reassuring knowing there was someone else there that would be supporting me and the baby. She was not aloud in the operating room for the birth, but was able to wait for us in my recovery area directly after. I needed a lot of help nursing once I was in recovery and could actually hold my baby. I was very week/tired (out of it), shaking a bit from the birth and very sweaty, I had an IV in my arm which did not help with using the football hold for nursing. If it wasn’t for her help nursing, I would have never been able to do it. The baby was sliding everywhere (skin to skin).
Stephanie then was a big support after the birth which I loved having another support system in place. She visited my home for her postpartum doula visits. She went above her duties as my doula and attended a breast feeding support meeting with me. We still exchange txt’s when I find the time to check in with her. I am so thankful I had her to support the first few hours of my son’s life and get him nursing. The hospital did not seam interested in having anyone there to help me nurse in recovery after a major abdominal surgery so I am very, very glad I had Stephanie with me. She was also a nice support for my husband as we had to sit and wait for the C-section and that was a bit stressful.
Stephanie was a fantastic calming light throughout my pregnancy and birth. She always answered my questions in a factual manner, with tons of information, and let me decide what I felt was best. She helped me create a birth plan that I felt comfortable with, and then supported me through and through. In the end, my birth didn't go as planned, I had to be induced. I was so nervous, and sad that everything I had spent months preparing for had to be changed. Stephanie was fantastic though. She made sure to give me lots of information about inductions, and that many aspects of my birth plan were still able to be present. My son's birth was unique and wonderful, I feel lucky to have had such a great experiace, and Stephnie's guidence definitely helped make it so great.
