As a first time mom I had no idea what to expect with birthing my son. My cousin had a doula for her hospital birth and I thought how silly it was to hire someone to do what your partner was supposed to do. I could not have been more wrong! Sarah was absolutely wonderful through the whole process. Our intial meeting went great, we could have been there for hours if we didn't stop ourselves. Not knowing what I wanted from my birth experience, Sarah gave us so many options and tools to use through the end of pregnancy and deilvery. We met twice at our home to discuss our needs and wants and she was always available through text. I was able to text her updates from my doctors appointments and she was very responsive.
When labor finally started she got to us in just half an hour! We wanted to labor at home as long as possible so it was grewt to have her there. She made it possible for my boyfriend to be able to pack the car and get the dogs situated without me being left alone. She also helped us determine when it was time to go. That car ride was only 20 minutes, but it was the longest 20 minutes of my life and luckily I had Sarah in the back seat with me holding my hand the whole way. Once we got to the hospital Sarah parked the car for us and got back to us so fast. She was amazing the whole time and whenever I was reaching out for a hand she was right there.
She made sure we had the birth that we wanted and more. Sarah came to visit once we were home and brought some awesome tea that helped a lot those first few weeks.
If we ever to decide to expand our family again, we know who we will be calling!
If you are looking for a dependable, caring and knowledgeable doula, Sarah would be a great fit.
Sarah was my doula when my daughter was born. I cannot say enough about how helpful Sarah was during the process. She listened and offered birthing options during our prenatal meetings. She was both responsive and accessible. She provided information and resources so that I could better prepare for what to expect.
I went into the emergency room with preeclampsia at 33 week. Even though it was too early and unexpected, Sarah was there right by my side to offer comfort. While in the hospital, Sarah was an advocate for me to help express to doctors and nurses what I wanted.
Afterwards, Sarah was in contact to make sure that I healed properly. She has come to see my daughter several times. I feel grateful to have had such a warm and patient person there during turbulent times.
I am so grateful for the opportunity to have such a supportive, understanding, and knowledgable doula by my side through my pregnancy and birth. From the moment I started speaking with Sarah I felt comfortable and at ease. We met a few times throughout my pregnancy. She was there to answer questions and give support any time I needed it.
Sarah is such an amazing doula and friend. She would provide resources to specific problems I had and even researched things herself thoroughly to explore ideas and all the elements of the pregnancy, birth and motherhood journey. We explored birthing classes together, she recommended books, we discussed methods of birthing that were specific to what I wanted to try like dancing, massage, birthing poses, and meditations.
Sarah helped me to host a blessingway. We celebrated motherhood and preformed many beautiful traditions in that night. It was truly a night of love that everyone who attended felt. We ate, read poems, had a fire, planted berry trees, and so much more with her help and input.
She is so caring and I felt that she really connected to helping provide the perfect birthing experience for my daugther and I. Sarah was there more than 24 hours for my labor and so much more through the pregnancy. She provided and discussed music, diet, aromatherapy, massage, energy, and the spiritual elements of birth that were so important to me.
The journey of my child's birth was magical and transcendent. I feel that Sarah helped to accomplish this with me, my baby, the midwives and the 2 friends that accompanied us. Even after my daugther was born, she came to visit us. Sarah is truly an amazing doula. She is the heart and soul of what I hope every mother and child can have through their pregnancy and birth. I couldn't have asked for a better doula.
Thank you so much Sarah.
I had a homebirth a couple months ago in June and had Sarah as my doula. Before the birth, we met a couple times to talk about how I felt and what I wanted for my homebirth (I had had a previous hospital birth). I felt Sarah really listened to me and asked really great questions to help me think about what I wanted. In between our meetings, Sarah would check in with me via texts, send me Facebook messages and just overall encouraged me. When I went into labor, I contacted her and she came over and spent the night with me while I labored and through my son's birth around noon. She both supported me as well as the midwives, making sure everyone was comfortable and always asking if there was anything she could do to help. When there were complications that required my son to be transferred to the hospital after he was born, she stayed with me and one of the midwives helping around the house to clean up everything from the labor and delivery and then helped transport us to the hospital. She checked in with me & visited me multiple times post delivery to see how I was doing and to talk about and process everything that happened.
I would definitely recommend Sarah as a doula to anyone looking for support before, during, and after the birth of their child. She has such great energy & a beautiful spirit that helps make the entire experience better as you feel so supported and cared for while you bring another person into the world.
