I’ll be honest, I wasn’t sure I needed a doula. With my first, we waited too long to book a doula and, in the end, the baby came and everything was fine. With my second, I waivered because I didn’t know what a doula would bring to the birthing experience. But, from our first meeting with Meg we knew we made the right decision. She showed us birthing positions and some stretches to alleviate hip pain.

The day I delivered, I went to the hospital early in the morning and was told to come back later. Meg came over right away to help me labor at home. We walked around the neighborhood and used a birthing ball until my contractions were very close together. At the hospital, Meg took care of me. While the nurses and midwife care about the pregnant mama, their objective is to get the baby out safely. Meg’s focus was to make sure I was OK, and as comfortable as possible given the circumstances. Her coaching masterfully guided me through the experience and took a lot of pressure off of my husband. I love my him, but he does not have the knowledge and wisdom that comes with assisting 10+ births. One final thing- this round I really wanted to have a natural birth, but I wasn't sure I could do it. With Meg’s encouragement, I found an inner strength I didn’t know I had and safely delivered a healthy baby with no medical intervention.

Megan was our doula for our first child and we were thrilled to be able to have her with us again for our second baby. Megan does a great job of walking both parents through the process of preparing for childbirth. When we were first time parents she helped us a great deal with practical preparations - laboring positions and techniques, resources, advice, etc. This second time we were more in need of emotional support because of things going on with job and family. I believe that being calm, confident, and not having any hidden fears or sources of anxiety is a major part of having a smooth delivery. Megan’s support helped with that aspect enormously this time around. Especially while going two weeks past my due date!

The labor and delivery were an amazing experience: I was able to go unmedicated which had been my goal. There was a brief moment where my baby’s shoulders got stuck but we were able to reposition and push through it. I only had a small tear that didn’t even need stitches. I think being well prepared had a lot to do with how well it all went. Megan’s presence through the delivery was wonderful! She is calm, so encouraging, and physically supportive whether letting me grip her hand with a death grip during contractions, rubbing my shoulders, helping me move to change positions, and more. Overall, she is great at helping elicit what we wanted from the childbirth experience and supporting us to make it happen – while still preparing for the fact that so much is out of our control. If you are thinking of hiring her as your doula – do it!

I cant say enough great things about Megan. This was my first baby. i knew i wanted an all natural birth and i wanted all the support available. I tried to be as informed as possible. Megan had great resources and knowledge to keep me informed and prepared for the birth. She is so kind, encouraging, and supportive which really helps with the anxiety and nerves that happen when becoming a new mom. She showed my husband how to help before the big day, so he was included in the experience as well. She helped me make a birth plan and stood up to pushy doctors, i know i wouldnt have had the wonderful empowering birth experience i wanted without her and im so grateful she was there for me! Its easy to see she loves what she does. Shes an outstanding doula!

We are SO glad we had Megan as our doula for the birth of our daughter.  This was our first baby and we felt much more confident and prepared for the childbirth experience than we would have otherwise thanks to Megan.  She helped us think and talk through what to expect, how we wanted it to go, and how we would respond to the inevitable unexpected ways it could go. She was a great resource and also directed us to other useful resources to help prepare and inform us.  When labor started Megan was there for us 100%, from early laboring at home (in the middle of the night) until late the next night after delivery at the hospital (when we were ready to have some alone time as a new family of three).  She supported me both emotionally and physically (giving my husband a break!) during the labor, as well as supporting my husband so that he felt more confident was able to do more to support me.  Megan consistently encouraged me throughout labor and was a calming, thoughtful influence that enabled us to make the best decisions in line with both our goals and the reality we had to work with.  I look back on my childbirth experience with only positive emotions (gratitude, amazement, joy) even though everything didn't happen the way we had hoped ahead of time, and I know that Megan was key in making that happen.

My birthing experience with Megan as my doula was absolutely wonderful. She is so kind, empathetic and humble. I believe that it takes a very special and very talented person to meet someone and show them so much love and care during one of the hardest, scariest and most messy moments in life. Megan made me feel comfirtable with her because she was comfortable and so confident. I am so grateful for my birthing experience and I'm so gratefyl for Megan and all that she did for me.

I highly recommend Megan as a doula. Not only did she work carefully and kindly to help create a satisfying birth experience for us, she also was a reassuring and supportive presence in the weeks leading up to the birth. She helped us consider practical details (pain management, birth preferences, etc.) and more abstract ideas (like what is necessary for a satisfying birth experience). During the actual birth, Megan stayed with us for about ten hours. Throughout the entire time, she was gentle, supportive, and nonjudgmental. I found her tremendously reassuring. She worked beautifully with my husband and all of the doctors and nurses. In fact, after the birth, one of the doctors took her aside to tell her that she was an incredible doula. Everyone there said she was the best doula they had ever worked with. It's clear that Megan's priority is to create a calm, supportive atmosphere. Even though some factors of the birth did not go as I would have planned, I felt satisfied and at peace with the experience. I did not have a doula for my first birth so I'm able to compare and contrast the experiences; I'd say that having support like Megan made all of the difference.

After looking for and talking to many doulas, I found Megan! Being a recently single mom, that posed a few unique challenges that made me skeptical of finding someone extra supportive, but after meeting and talking to Megan (and Elan (I chose to have 2 doulas)), I couldn't have been more confident that I was choosing the best possible options. Megan is incredibly inviting and has such a warm spirit to her. She made me feel comfotable and at ease throughout my pregnancy and was extremeley easy to talk to. She educated me about my birth options and helped me write my birth plan. With my first birth, it didn't go as I had hoped, and I was determined that this birth go smoother and that I knew and explored my options. Megan helped me do just that-Know my options and follow through with them. Towards the end of my pregnancy, Megan attended a doctor's appointment with me to discuss birth preferences with my doctor, where I was again reassured and supported with my decisions. When plans changed for me to have an induction, I have never felt more confident that although it wasn't the ideal plan, I would be able to do it because I had such amazing support beside me. Megan met me at the hospital, where they started things, and although I was nervous, I was at peace knowing I had options and choices still. During labor, she massaged, applied heat and counter pressure, and helped me get into a rhythm where I could manage contractions. She helped me relax and was everything (and then some!) that I needed during labor. Not only was she an immense help physically, she was there emotionally and mentally for me as well, encouraging me that I could do this and I was strong. It was an incredible experience. She still continues to show her love and support for baby and I. I am so happy that Megan was such a huge part of this journey with me! If more babies are in my future, she will definitely be requested by my side again.

I knew I wanted to have a different birthing experience than I had with my two previous. Megan came recommended from another doula that I know. I met with her and we had a great visit about what kind of experience I was looking for. Our conversation was very natural and easy going. Megan made me feel important and confident in myself. We both agreed that it was a good fit for us. My husband met her later on and that went great as well. We all agreed to move forward with Megan being our doula. Megan was very attentive and caring. She would check on me often to see how things were going, how I was feeling, and if I had any questions or concerns. If I did have questions she would send me researched information to help me with my questions. We started building a relationship and as time went on I felt more and more comfortable with her. Anticipation grew as the time came closer. Megan reassured me she would be here with us whenever I called her. I was concerned because of the distance between us, about 45 miles. The day of our babies birth I went and got a massage. Within an hour of the massage I started having mild contractions. I called Megan and informed her of what was going on. The evening approached and my contractions picked up. I was able to talk through them so Megan and I agreed for me to try and get some rest. Well that didnt last long, ha ha, my contractions started picking up quickly, I was timing them, they were pretty close together. Things progressed quickly and I knew it was time to go the hospital. Megan met us at our house and we headed to the hospital. Things happened very quickly. She was right with me and encouraging me that I was doing amazing and that I could get through it, I was almost done! I highly recommend Megan as a doula. Shes kind, compassionate and very professional. Thank you Megan for all you did for us. You helped us in having the best birth experience yet! I know you will bless others lives as well :)

We (Natalie and I) Knew within minutes of meeting Megan that she was our prefered choice for a Doula. Her calm personality, inteligent presence and down to earth charm did us in! She's gone above and beyond our expectations every chance she's been given and we are so grateful to have had her pressent at our daughters birth. She was by Natlies side through out the entire laboring experience. Helping Nat with drinks of water, cooling her fever, giving relieving massages and keeping spirits high. We can't thank her enough for her thoughfulness in helping us prepare for this most amazing of experiences and for her drive that helped get us though it, little Megan was awake for 24hrs straight and never let in or gave up her post as "Super Doula".

I assure that our level of pure satisfaction with her will by had by all that give her the oportunity to be apart of thier most trying and beautiful experience, birth.

Thank you Megan, you'll most certianly be retained by us again should we ever have another child!
