Marissa was AMAZING! She was there every step of the way. She was very informative and made us feel very comfortable with her. She was readily available for us even when he had prodromal labor going on and didnt know what it was. I am so glad that she was our first choice when it came to this pregnancy. Thanks to her words of encouragement and support for me and my husband I was able to deliver our 9lb 2oz baby boy without meds or epidural just like I wanted to. I wouldn't hesitate to use her again if I were to have another child! Thanks Marissa for everything you did for us!
Marissa encapsulated my placenta and prepared a tincture. Such a great investment!! She came a few hours after I messaged her, and was amazing at explaining the process and gave us a little crash course on how the placenta functions. She is so knowledgeable and personable. She gave us a few colored impressions of the placenta and a cord keepsake. She offers a huge variety of options as well. I was able to choose a flavored capsule to make the pills easier to take, but she also offers chocolates and tinctures (I opted for a tincture in addition to my pills). She stays in touch to make sure the pills are doing their job and you don't need any dosage adjustments, which I very much appreciate! I am a little less than 2 weeks post partum, and I feel that the pills helped me a ton with recovery and absolutely help with my energy levels, which is great because I have a very actiive toddler too. I am so satisfied with her services, and really glad I found her!!
I hired Marissa to make my placenta pills. I can't begin to express how happy and comfortable she made us.This was my first time turning my placenta into pills. Marissa walked me through every step and was extreamly knowledgeable about the process. I would hire her in a heartbeat if I have another child. She became more then just a doula but a friend. She would do check ups to make sure everything was going smoothly. Marissa goes above and beyond what's expected. She is kind, patient, and welcoming.
I don't like taking pills, so she worked with me and I had my entire placenta made into chocolates! I love them! She is so kind and fun to work with. It's even better because she came to MY house and made it all infront of me. You may have seen the viral story about a crazy lady who had her placenta made into chocolates... Well Marissa was the one who made them!!
I have had the pleasure of working with Marissa for my last 2 births. Marissa is very caring and supportive. She was a rock the entire very long drawn out labors I had and I could have not been more happy with her services. She is very informative and I would love to have her as a doula with any other births I may have.
Marissa is amazing and we are forever grateful to her for all that she did for our family! We are not the typical situation because we are two adoptive parents. We hired Marissa because we were adopting a newborn and we had no idea how to take care of a baby. Marissa was very patient with us and gave us so much helpful information. She helped us get connected with breast milk sharing groups online, and she taught us about the many types of carriers for wearing babies. In addition to all the great information, Marissa instilled a lot of confidence in us in our new role as parents.
Marissa has a very welcoming and calming personality. It was easy to talk with her and she was very supportive. Marissa was always available for a quick question and went out of her way to check in with us often. We really appreciate all she has done for us and highly recommend her.
Ms. Peterson is caring and professional and wonderful to work with. She commuinicates very effectively, always responded to me promptly and answered all of my questions clearly and in language I could easily understand. When she came to my home to encapsulated my placenta, she took great care to sterilize everything and explained every step of her process, and worked diligently to produce a high quality product. She was also very personable and wonderful with both of my children. I would absolutly recommend her to other expectant mothers because she is great to work with and her products are a valualble part of postpartum recovery.
Marissa was a blessing for our family. I had previously had an unplanned c-section in 2012 with my first for "failure to progress" after I had labored for 24 hours and had dilated to 8 cm and 7.5 cm due to the baby being op. I did not want that to happen again so I researched and knew I needed a doula. Marissa was perfect! She kept my husband calm and that helped my labor to be much more pleasant and I after 36+ hours I was able to have my vbac! I know that Marissa was a huge part of my success and that without her I am sure I would have been taken for a repeat section. She is an amazing doula and has become a great friend to my family. She was wonderful with the nurses and doctor at the hospital as well. If you are looking for a doula you should consider Marissa Peterson, she will do a fantastic job! If we were going to have another I know I would call on her again! Thank you, Marissa!
Marissa was my doula for my second child and first natural birth. Marissa by far is one of the sweetest and most caring people I have ever met. Whenever I need Marissa she was a phone call, text, or email away. She was my rock during my labor when my husband was deployed the day before I gave birth. If i were to get pregnant again. I will definitely be giving Marissa a call!
Marissa was a great help as our doula. Her flexibility in her roles and her experience with childcare gave us some peace of mind that our toddler would be in good hands as my husband and I concentrated on delivering our baby. She bounced between the role of doula and sibling doula as needed, including providing moral support and supervision for our toddler while I labored at home, and meeting us at the birth center for my actual delivery. (My mother had arrived from the airport early the next morning to take over with our toddler.)
Marissa had a nice relaxed demeanor interacting with our 2-year old, and it was something I also appreciated during labor. She reminded me to break out my TENS machine at home while I was laboring, and helped me place the pads properly for the first time. We were especially grateful when she was able to pick up food we forgot at home when she came to meet us at the birth center.
We were glad for her help again, when we had to take our newborn for jaundice treatment at the hospital. She met us there for a post partum visit, where she helped find us bottled water and snacks. Even better, she knew to ask for slow-flow nipples for the bottles the hospital supplied when we were having some trouble with the bottle-feeding we were instructed to do by the doctor there.
All-in-all, we were very glad for Marissa's help through all the stages of bringing our second child into the world.
