How can I even put into words how AMAZING Lacy is. I had gone online looking for a doula in my area that I had just moved to. I had a hard time finding someone who was close to me. But I found one who was willing to travel. Things unfortunately did not work out with us, and I felt SO hurt and lost. Lacy not only restored my faith in having a doula at my birth, but also in myself. Being pregnant, you've got all kinds of hormones and emotions running through you. Lacy was able to calm me down, and bring me peace miles and miles away. She gave me so much information and helped me make decisions I didn't feel confident making. She gave me tools and resources and helped me arm myself to make the best choices for my family. I cannot recommend her enough. I felt like I could talk to her about anything. Every question I had was taken seriously. She's one of those people who just "get it" and that's SO hard to find. If you want to have the birth you've been dreaming of, you really want Lacy on your team.
I didn't meet for the first time till I was in active labor as she is the backup doula to the original one I had booked with (my original doula was attending to another mom who went into labor a month before her due date). Lacy was absolutely amazing! She came to our house and immediately started to observe how I was getting through contractions and gave awesome pointers and suggestions to help assist me and even my husband! Lacy was so calm and reassuring during each contraction it really helped keep me calm. When it was time to head to the hosptial she rode in the car with us and helped with the final part of transition labor right before delivery. She stayed for 2 hours after the birth to help make sure I was doing well and getting comfortable and helping with my husband and I's new son. Lacy is so passionate and knowledgeable I'd recommend her to anyone!
Lacy has been a pleasure to work with! From our first meeting, my husband and I knew she was the doula we wanted to join us on our VBAC attempt. She paid close attention to every element of the birthing we envisioned, but remained flexible as our plans changed given the circumstances. Lacy was attentive to my needs, as well as my husband's - making sure that we were taking care of ourselves and each other. She empowered my husband and I to ask questions and be sure we got the information and support that we needed from the hospital team. Her calming actions, words, and demeanor were exactly what we needed to get through, and we were thrilled to share the birth of our second son with her.
Lacy from Connected Birth was fantastic! I hired Lacy right around my 33rd week and she was very kind and accommodating throughout the entire process. She customized a package for my family’s needs. From our first meeting I felt surprisingly comfortable, as Lacy a quiet reassuring presence. I ultimately ended up delivering early at 37 weeks as a result of preeclampsia. Lacy did not miss a beat! She help, rather, guided ? my partner and me through an extremely complicated labor and delivery. My partner also appreciated her preparation and support throughout the whole experience. She went the extra mile and worked with my four year old daughter to ensure she felt included, excited, and comfortable for the arrive of our baby boy. I cannot thank Lacy enough for bringing so much love and peace to, what can easily be, an extremely stressful stage of our lives!
As a first time mom, I was so nervous being pregnant, and I was so afraid of the entire experience. When I met Lacy, I was immediately at ease. She was so nice, compassionate, and knowledgable through the entire pregnancy, and she always went above and beyond. One night my baby was rolled over in just the right position to stick out my back and cause extreme pain. Lacy came over and massaged me. She went above and beyond, staying past midnight to ensure that all thepain and discomfort was gone. She answered all of my questions and helped me to become so well educated about all of my options that I stopped being afraid at all. I could not have ever done my natural birth without her, and I already know that I will use her services for my next pregnancy. No matter what time of day, if I needed her, she always answered her phone or came over if I needed her. Lacy was there for one of the best days of my life, and she even helped my husband to feel comfortable and well informed. She is so much more than a doula- she is a lifesaver!
I don't know if I would have had my VBAC without the assistance of Lacy. My docotrs were giving me so many if's about my vbac. They had me so scared, but Lacy was always there to help coach me through the trials of pregnacy. She was very knowledgeable about how to get the baby to drop down into my pelvis ( I was overdue by this point) with many different excercises. On the night I was ready to deliver I called Lacy at 3:20a.m because the doctor wanted me to have a csection and I was overwhelmed and crying. Mind you I had been in labor for 2 days and was finally at 9 cm dialated and 99.4% effaced, but they said my baby heart rate was too high and she wasn't moving enough on the monitor. Lacy was able to calm me down and keep me focused on the goal. She aided me in many tools that helped the baby move and her heart rate drop down to the doctors satisfaction. If it was not for her I would have probably had another csection, but instead I had a very successful Vbac and for that I am grateful. I would highly reccomend her to anyone that truly want someone that is passionate about what they do and truly love the birthing experience and children.
From day one Lacy has been a huge support of my pregnacy and birth. My first child was an emergency c-section and I desired to have a Vbac this time around. Lacy was able to help me with several methods to help me open my pelvis to make the baby drop. This was very important because my midwife and doctor h
My birth experience was WONDERFUL! This is my third birth, first home-birth, and I am so thankful for the blessing of Lacy this go-round! In my previous births I did not have a doula, and it was a breath of fresh air to have someone trained and in tune with what I may need during the birthing process. Lacy was a calming presence and was a wealth of suggestions when I needed a change of pace to help labor progress. She looked to me for cues to determine how involved I needed her to be, Lacy reassured me that everything I was feeling was normal and that I could cry if it helped release energy too. It worked! What a blessing!
