In the chaotic aftermath of welcoming our first tiny human (B) into the world, my wife and I found ourselves in dire need of a superhero. We were short on practical knowledge, patience, & sleep and full of ignorance & awake hours. Enter Kate Vosta, our postpartum doula... Although armed with an arsenal of wisdom, empathy, a massive network of baby rearing & new mother experts & an uncanny ability to find humor in the midst of our sleep-deprived chaos.

It was as if Mary f'ing Poppins showed up with a Stanley Cup who has an empathetic slightly sarcastic humor & an observant presence that could read between the lines of any situation. She understood what we were experiencing and recommended a myriad of suggestions before we knew what was happening. Her tactical knowledge, teaching, and guided implementation brought a level of sanity to first time parents with no familial network close at hand. Her ability to not make you feel like an ignorant ass for not knowing or comprehending what to do next was much needed. She has genuine warmth and is unwavering in her support. She's like Thor the god of thunder diapers. She allowed us to be okay when it didn't seem like it was okay.

In a world where sanity is a nonexistent precious commodity, Kate is the beacon of hope that every new parent needs. With her infectious laughter, boundless compassion, Kate is more than just a doula – she's a lifeline for anyone navigating the unpredictable waters of early parenthood (espeically your first). The most understated & maybe important part was her almost omnipresence. She checked in via text more than anyone in our lives. Not because she was on the clock, but because she truly cares for her clients and their children.

So, if you feel impossibly unprepared for an impossible situation to prepare for, please enlist the help of Kate Vosta. She was a lifesaver. Our very own friendly neighborhood postpartum doula, Kate. BC

I'm four months postpartum and anyone who asks me how I am doing hears a gushing review about Kate and her extraordinary care. As a first-time parent, I was scared about newborn care - not to mention my own recovery after a planned surgical birth. I can speak to all of Kate's skills and energy that she brought to our home: her ability to calm our son, her wisdom about c-section recovery, her expertise in feeding and other infant care, her dedicated regular check-ins and quick responses to emerging issues. But her more extraordinary gifts are her ability to listen and to empower new parents to trust themselves, their own instincts, and their own decision-making. I cannot fully express how well she launched my husband and me as new parents and how much we credit her for how teaching us how to find joy and resilience in caring for our son.

As a first time parent, Kate helped me feel equipped and empowered to care for my child in ways I didn't think possible. Her guidance in anticipating the developmental needs of a child and the recovery care for my spouse were specific and tailored to both of their needs. I cannot recommend Kate highly recommend enough for the culture of care and empowerment she takes in her role as postpartum doula

When the doctor told us we were having twins we asked her if she had advice to get us through the initial shock of suddenly needing to plan for two babies. "You're going to be fine but you're going to need a lot of help" was what she said. We had never heard of postpartum doulas before but when we started to learn about them we knew that was the kind of help we were going to need. Having Kate help us through the early days of twins made it feel almost easy. She heard all of our concerns about how we could do everything with two babies without going crazy and showed us all the tips and tricks without ever making us feel like we weren't doing a great job already. Not only did she show us how to take care of our babies she also helped us navigate taking care of our house, our pets, and ourselves as new parents. We can't recommend her highly enough to any parents but especially parents of multiples.

When it comes to Kate, I could write a book on how fantastic she has been to our family!  As a new father, the journey of the fourth trimester was exciting but also worrisome. Navigating being a parent for the first time while making sure my wife was recovering physically, mentally, and emotionally felt overwhelming at times. While I expected Kate would mainly be a source of support for my wife, I was surprised that she ended up being an incredible source of support for me as well! She replaced my fear with confidence and provided assurance that my wife and I were both doing a great job.

Her visits were filled with limitless amounts of support, positive affirmations, extensions of grace, and friendship.  Her check-ins with us always came at the perfect time, and she made herself available anytime we had questions. Most importantly, Kate helped us learn to continue living our lives with our son. She helped us to go on outings to get comfortable traveling with a baby and alleviated any concerns we had.

The only negative thing I can say about Kate is that she wasn’t able to become our life doula! She blessed us not only with a wealth of knowledge, but also with the gift of true friendship.

It's hard to put into words how much Kate means to my family and me. I truly can't recommend her highly enough! Of all the things I did to prep for postpartum, hiring Kate was by far the best decision I made. As a first time mom, I had numerous questions and concerns. Kate not only has a wealth of knowledge, but she patiently and lovingly answered all of my questions and helped calm all of my fears. She helped me and my husband seamlessly incorporate our new baby into our lives and gave us so much confidence as new parents! Because of her, I will look back on the early post partum period fondly. She loved us and our baby so well and really made the difference in our family thriving vs just surviving. Kate is truly gifted at what she does, and I wish every family had the type of support she offers. I absolutely adore her and cannot wait to work with her again in the future!

Kate Vošta is the best at what she does, plain and simple. There is no way that this recommendation could ever describe the positive impact she has made on my entire family during this new and exciting (yet scary!) time in our lives. She was exactly what we needed (even though we didn't know it) and we have become better parents and people with her in our lives.

Kate came into our house two weeks after we gave birth to our first child. For two working parents who had prioritized careers, travel, and other things before starting a family, we felt extremely nervous and a bit lost on how to grow and develop as a family with our new member. That, coupled with a less than pleasant birth experience for my wife, made the early days of parenting more tense, tiresome, and anxious for the both of us as we questioned whether we were doing things right for our baby. We knew we needed help, but we couldn't pinpoint exactly what we needed or how to get it. Kate entered our household and immediately lightbulbs went off on how valuable she could be in helping us transition into capable and effective parents. She let us use our minds and our opinions in how we wanted to raise our baby and added in a wealth of knowledge and insight based on her past experiences. She taught us to trust our gut and gave us the confidence to tell ourselves even in our weakest moments that we were doing a good job and were becoming great parents.

On a personal note, Kate provides a service with love and care that can't be duplicated because of its genuineness. She is now an official member of our family and celebrates our success and achievements as if they were happening to her. She is kind, gentle, smart, and beyond capable of doing whatever your family needs. Her love is infectious and she is the reason my wife and I wake up every morning seeing the progress she has enabled us to achieve with our baby (and ourselves) and telling ourselves that "We Can Do This!"

I went to stay w my daughter & son-in-law for a while to help after the birth of their first baby. My daughter had already hired Kate for postpartum care. Kate was an invaluable support to the new parents and this brand new Nana!

Her sweet, gentle demeanor and her incredible knowledge were so calming and helpful to us “newbies”. She suggested things to help ease my daughter’s postpartum pain, how to best calm/ soothe a fussy baby, suggested products (and showed us how to use them) that might make new parenthood easier, and (most important to me) kept a watchful eye over my daughter - making sure she didn’t delve into any postpartum depression or anxieties.

Not only did we eagerly await her scheduled days, but she was always avail for help via text and phone calls. She often checked on us to make sure WE were ok. (When I finally went back home after a month - she texted ME to ask how I was doing)! Everything she did felt above and beyond. She was incredibly supportive, loving, caring, & kind… after our time together, she truly feels like a forever friend!

Hiring a postpartum doula was THE BEST thing my daughter did for herself and her new family! We love Ms. Kate!!!

I cannot properly put into words how lucky you would be to have the opportunity to work with Kate. Not only is she an expert in her field, who is knowledgeable and up to date on all things related to infant and postpartum care, she’s an all around great person and really fun.

After our baby was born, we were in desperate need of help and didn’t even know exactly what we needed. Kate was able to meet and anticipate our needs without us even asking. She taught me how to care for myself and our baby with a kind, gentle touch and a lot of laughter. I know that Kate’s work single handedly changed my postpartum experience, both mentally and physically, to have such a better outcome. And she’s a restaurant quality cook.

I could write for pages about all Kate’s amazing qualities and the little things she did along the way that made a difference, but suffice to say she is the best.

Kate has been absolutely amazing!! She is always available to answer any questions or concerns I had in my postpartum journey as well as provide resources. I had a tough birthing experience and Kate was very empathetic and helped me realize that the postpartum journey can be about healing yourself. I would highly recommend her

Kate literally saved me the week my first baby was born. I had zero idea what I was doing and was overwhelmed with hormones and exhaustion. She was calm and kind on the phone and made time in her schedule to come help us out at home. She helped me with breastfeeding, bathing the baby, meals and countless other things but the best gift she gave me was the confidence to care for my baby and the skills to take care of myself. My only regret is not booking her in advance. I won’t make that mistake again if I have another baby. Everyone needs a “Kate” to make postpartum so much more bearable.

I met Kate in a very unexpected way when I was put in the hospital for postpartum depression, but she didn't think twice to help our family during those dark times. She came in and helped care for baby when I couldn't, and supported my husband in an Angel like way. I do call her our guardian angel. After this dark time, she nursed me back alive aiding in helping me bond with my baby girl. She walked with me through the shadow of death helping me hold and love my baby one step at a time. She guided me through letting go of anxiety, getting out with baby, to look at motherhood with a newborn with a fresh perspective which allowed me to become the mother I always dreamed of. I never looked into this process before until I was forced into it but having her care for me and aid me in taking care of myself and baby was exactly what I needed. This woman is an Angel, Doula, Mother, Hilarious friend, and exactly what you need. Hire her, don't think twice! Hands down the best investment, 1000 times better than all of that baby gear.

Kate was an incredibly valuable resource for my wife and me after the birth of our daughter. As new parents, we were overwhelmed, exhausted, and unsure of what to do next and she was able to help alleviate some of those feelings and provide a sense of calm and confidence.

Kate expertly provided support in many areas, such as helping with breastfeeding, providing emotional support and guidance, assisting with household tasks, and offering practical advice and resources. Kate’s presence alone made a significant impact on our postpartum experience and provided a peace of mind we were seeking with a newborn in our home. Her expertise and care were greatly appreciated during such an important time in our lives. We are so fortunate Kate is a part of our story and blessed that she continues to be part of our lives.

Kate is the sweetest soul you will ever meet!  After I had my first child,  I posted in a local moms group asking about opinons on different baby carriers.  Kate offerred to come to my house and drop off several she had in her collection for new moms so I could try them out before purchasing so I could see what worked best for me.  She was a stranger at that time and all she wanted to do was help a new mom out.  How amazing is that?

Since then I have heard from several families who have worked with Kate and got to know her on a more personal basis.  She goes above and beyond for so many people.  Anytime I hear about someone needing her services, I do not hesitate to give her name.

Kate, thank you for being such a wonderful light and deep and caring person in this world we live in.  You are amazing and parents (and people in general!) are lucky to have you.

Hiring a postpartum doula has been the key to happiness for helping me to enjoy the postpartum period more, and having Kate as a postpartum doula has made all the difference the second time around. Doing this has been shown to prevent postpartum depression, and it is obvious why. My doula has helped me to enjoy all the best moments with Hadley so I could focus on holding her, showering, sleeping, and eating. More than that, she has given me the most up-to-date info on infant care, having read tons of articles on everything related to pregnancy and child development. She's a genius with cooking meals that are healthy, which is likely why I've lost 20 to 25 lbs already without trying (though admittedly weight loss has not been my first concern, sleeping is!). Even better, she helped me to navigate some difficult moments with extended family members who struggle with boundaries. Some things are hard to balance as a new parent. For example, people often forget that the postpartum period is a time of complete exhaustion. If you have a C-section, it's still painful for a long time after. Some folks are excited about your new addition, and boundaries are super duper important to maintaining your sanity as a new parent. There are also folks who don't realize you can't do them a ton of favors bc you need to focus on bonding, recovery, and your family. However, it can be hard when you are sleep deprived to set those limits in a way that helps you successfully maintain relationships. Enter Kate to the rescue!! The cost is not exorbitant and Kate helps people from all income levels. Sometimes you need someone who can listen and give you support but is also sensitive to get when not to give unsolicited advice.

Kate is a Godsend to any mother and family with a new baby. Whether it is your first baby or fifth, she will educate and support the parents in all aspects of life with a newborn. Her calm matter and approach to education make it easy to understand and incorporate her teachings with your child. She is patient, kind, supportive, extremely knowledgeable and amazingly helpful. She is always available to calm and reassure you whenever you have a question or a doubt with no judgement. She goes above and beyond to support you and your choices. I would recommend her whole-heartedly and don't know how I made it without her after my first two children were born. She is simply the best.

I can't help but recommend Kate to any new mothers and their families. Having a baby is daunting enough - and then the hospital sent me home without an instruction manual! This is when Kate stepped in. Kate taught me and my husband so much and she gave me a different perspective on my time as a new mama. People spend so much time doting on mothers during their pregnancies and oftentimes - once baby arrives, people focus so much on baby that mama is almost an afterthought.  She focused on making sure I was well taken care of by everyone around me So that I could take excellent care of my little guy. Kate takes the whole family into account with her approach and handles it in a gentle and loving way. She finds a way to make sure dad feels needed and helpful. Is mama finding the time to take a shower everyday? How about meals? Who is making the meals and ensuring that everyone is eating? Siblings? She will find a way to get them involved and make sure they feel just as important as before this new little creature entered their home.

Most importantly, I remember the way Kate made me feel - empowered!  She helped me gain the confidence I needed to hold my little man (yes - I was worried I might break him ??). The confidence to give him a bath. How to take a shower when I was the only one home and baby was wide awake... How to take that onesie off after a blowout without getting it in his hair or on his face! What foods to eat that help with maintaining my milk supply. The list goes on.

So yes - I would recommend Kate in a heartbeat. She is amazing at what she does and I am so fortunate to have learned from her.

What can I say about my best friend!? She is an amazing woman, momma, wife, and doula! I cannot count the number of times I've had to consult her for everything from what kind of breast pump to buy to what is this weird rash on my kid? She is a wealth of knowledge, kind, and very supportive. You'd be hard pressed to find another like her!

I am a pregnancy and Labor Doula.  I met Kate several years ago when searching for a new Postpartum Doula to assist my clients after birth.  I had a client who had very specific needs and not all PP doulas offer the same services, so I called Kate and chatted with her about her beliefs, her practice and how she was comfortable supporting her clients in their home and through the early stages of parenthood.  I LOVED all of her responses, but the proof is in the pudding.  I check in with my clients regularly and heard nothing but good things....  Then the good things got better.  I kept referring to Kate and she just kept exceeding my expectations.  Kate is an amazing Doula.  Not only does she make you feel safe, but she makes you feel conficent.  Kate doesn't just take care of you - she teaches you how to be a mother.  How to balance life and children.  How to plan and prepare for your life.  How to cope with the different issues that will inevitably come up as a new parent.  And don't get me started on that meal prep and cooking.  The most beautiful delicious food.  You would all be lucky to have Kate cook for you.  She makes you feel loved, because she loves you.  She is a safe place, a soft landing point and a sounding board on those hard days when all you want to do is run away.  Kate is generous, loving, kind, encouraging, supportive, passionate, gentle, nurturing and professional.  In a word - AWESOME!!!!  I am so lucky to know her and my clients are so grateful for her kind guiding heart!  Thank you, Kate.  Thank you! Thank You!  Thank You!

Where to start?  Kate has helped me out more than she probabaly realizes.  First, baby blues affected me hard this time.  It was nothing like my first pregnancy where I cried for two or three days and was fine.  This was full on mood swings, feeling out of place and sobbing feeling so sad.  She reached out to me and let me know I could call her anytime and would even come over.  She did come to my house one day to show me how to use my baby carrier.  I was never a baby wearer with my first son but having a 2 year old and a new baby, I knew I'd need to learn.  As soon as she walked in the door she offered to do dishes or fold clothes.  I was shocked.  This was someone I had never met but had only talked to via facebook who was offering to do these things for me.  Kate also helped me with breastfeeding.  We've chatted several times discussing how much my baby should drink, how to pace feed and things I could do so I could be a sucessful breastfeeder while being a working mom.  Kate obviously has a passion for helping new moms and it's nice to have someone who cares about you, your baby and goals with out judging your goals/lifestyle.

Being a new mom is scary. professionals and family members pull you in all sorts of directions. it gets overwhelming and I started to feel like no one was on my side. When I contacted kate she helped me ease my fears and always encouraged me. It felt great when she answered all of my questions and reminded me that I am doing a great job. She always followed up and made sure momma and baby were at ease. Absolutely love her!
