It was an absolute pleasure working with Tobin! We had the opportunity to work with 4 Doula’s and Tobin was the best ever! She had an incredible ability to read our families situation/personalities and know exactly where she could offer her insight and help. She is extremely knowledgeable about newborns and postpartum mothers. She always arrived early, professional and made sure to ask what things I wanted to get accomplished for the day, and how she could help me. Additionally she was proactive in taking on tasks that I had not necessary mentioned (ie; folding/doing laundry, unloading/loading dishwasher etc.). I enjoyed Tobin’s company and soaked up the knowledge that she offered! Even a month later we are still using the skills that Tobin taught us and find ourselves asking “what would Tobin do?” If we could have Tobin forever we would have, we can’t recommend her highly enough!

My husband and I hired Tobin to help with post partum doula care after the birth of our first child. Not having a lot of experience with infants and being first time parents, we wanted to make sure we had the support we needed to transition into a family of three. I also specificially wanted support around lactaion and breast feeding.

In our experience, Tobin is easy to be around, asks great questions, listens attentively and makes herself incredibly useful during the hours she works with a family. She proactively looks for things to help with around the house, takes the baby off your hands so you can rest or shower, helps with breast feeding and based on your conversations offers great practical advice for the baby and your family. In addtion to the hours we worked with her in-person it was a great relief to be able to text her questions and call and email her for advice.

Tobin was reliable, kind, resourceful and a wealth of practical knowledge on everything from the best fleece booties for our boy's cold feet to how to deal with sick relatives who are insisent on visiting. We feel fortunate and grateful that we had the chance to work with her and would highly recommend her to other families looking for post partum care.

As first time parents, my husband and I decided to hire a postpartum doula to make the transition at home as smooth as possible and that is exactly what Tobin has helped us accomplish. It has been invaluable to have her wealth of knowledge in our house a few times a week to answer all of our questions. From swaddling and sleep practices to lactation consultation – Tobin has taught us so many skills to make life at home as comfortable as can be. On top of that, she has allowed my husband and I to catch up on sleep and regain a sense of normalcy in our lives whenever she works. That is the greatest gift of all. From day one Tobin has fit effortlessly into our home and made us feel success and supported as new parents.

My husband and I both had a terrific impression of Tobin during our initial meeting and could immediately see the value of having her support as we navigated the early days of parenting. But it was actually my husband Kurt who championed us hiring her. To sum up his words: “Once we get home from the hospital…it’s you, me, Google, or 911. And I have no idea what to do when it comes to taking care of a baby!”

Once we brought our daughter home Tobin began supporting us as we learned how to feed, swaddle, bathe, and understand our baby’s cues. I am a researcher by profession, and while I could have been reading lots of books, websites, and manuals to help us navigate all the “how-to” of the early days, it was so much nicer to have an actual person patiently walk us through things in real time and answer our questions. Her observations reassured me on what is normal regarding breastfeeding and pumping, and her suggestions helped make things smoother.  She had a multitude of practical suggestions and baby wisdom, big and small. Tobin’s assistance helped my husband and I get breaks when we needed them and ensured we were well fed and hydrated so we could put optimal energy toward our daughter. She also helped with small household tasks, which meant that friends and family who stopped by could enjoy baby time, rather than needing to help us catch up on chores.

In addition to all the practical help Tobin provided, she also has an incredible personality that was a joy to be surrounded by. She is a gifted caretaker and we both felt completely supported by her during a period that is often fraught with stress. She seamlessly blended into our household dynamic and helped us communicate better. Her support was instrumental in helping us adjust to and enjoy our first few weeks as parents. Reassurance, confidence, peace with your partner, and sleep, is priceless to a new family.

Tobin is a fantastic postpartum doula. She was like a baby whisperer with my son and with me, she was so compassionate and helpful. She really listened to my concerns and responded without judgement, meaning I don't know what her parenting philosophies are exactly, but she was incredibly helpful in helping me execute mine and in some cases, helped me figure them out. She helped build my confidence as a new mom and gave me great tips and tricks on getting baby to sleep, bathing, baby wearing, and more. I can't recommend her enough.
