Patsy was beyond amazing! She was available last minute, no hesitation. She went above and beyond as a doula. She brought crushed ice to my birth after remebering me telling her I craved ice during my pregnancy. She also was available as soon as I needed her, no time limit. Patsy also took discreet notes during the birth, and typed out a birth story for me. I highly recommend her!

The second person I called after my surprise positive pregnancy test was Patsy. I recently had my fourth baby (first home birth) and I honestly can't even imagine how it would have been without her there. Patsy was the calm in my storm. I can't even begin to tell you what her constant encouragement and tangible support meant to my husband and I. This was my third birth with Patsy. She is so knowledgeable, empowering, and invigorating. Each time I hire her, I learn something new. Something new about myself, and about the birth world. Each time I birth with Patsy I feel as though I am safe, comforted, provided for, and just empowered as a woman. She has always been respectful of all of my choices, while providing me with information that I need to make informed decisions about my pregnancies and deliveries. I honestly cannot imagine birthing without her by my side! The care that she delivers both pre-natally, during birth, and her post-partum visit is superb! Patsy is truly the very best! She will always hold a very special place in our hearts!

Knowledgeable, intuitive, compassionate, reliable and calm. These are just a few words that describe Patsy and her work as a doula. Some say that if you do what you love then it’s not work (although in the case of childbirth, in my experience it’s hard work no matter how much you love seeing your baby take his or her first breaths!). Nonetheless, the way childbirth is experienced is so important for the wellbeing of the mother and child, and it shows so clearly that Patsy believes this with all her heart.

From the beginning stages of pregnancy to postpartum, she has offered my family incredible support: a wealth of unbiased information, encouragement, birth planning tools, physical care (massage, dance, heat compress, rebozo, EO’s, belly binding…), documentation, follow up well-visit and so much more.

You can see how much she values the concept of a support system, as she keeps herself closely knit with the best professionals and organizations in the field so that she can, in turn, offer that support and insight to expecting families. She's also an experienced sonographer and can provide a deeper level of understanding of what you’ll see and hear during an ultrasound.

She regards the natural process as a miracle, always reveling in the differences from one birth to another, so she knows very well the value of being a flexible and perceptive caretaker.

I can say with confidence that I would not have been able to bring two little beauties into the world naturally if it weren’t for her involvement. I’ve had the great pleasure of Patsy’s help during both births, and I would highly recommend her to anyone going through this beautiful journey of life!

Upon finding out I was pregnant for the second time, I knew right away that I needed to make sure pasty was available to be my doula again. She was an amazing doula for my first, and supported me in every way possible! After finding out that we were expecting twins, the support that Patsy gave us was above and beyond what we could have ever imagined! She helped us every step of the way to find good healthcare providers and supplied me with a plethora of information on supplements that I should take for all of the side affect my body was dealing with carrying twins! She was at my side in the hospital and was even able to help out holding babies during the delivery! Pasty has become a permanent part of our growing family and I would trust no one else to be that role during pregnancy and delivery. Patsy has vast knowledge and resources ready to give! And if she doesn’t know the answer, she does all she can to find out he information you are looking for! She is so loving and sweet and an all around great person to have by your side!

When we found out we were expecting, we immediately thought of contacting our doula friend Patsy. We are so thankful that God has chosen her to be at my previous home birth. She was there for my actual birth and my baby was born before my midwife arrived. Without a doubt, we wanted her to be at our birth again this time if possible. She is very committed to her clients, always making sure of her availability before her commitment. She has a big heart to help women, especially in the area of assisting them to have a positive birthing experience. She came prepared each time for her visit, not only in her professional practice but also in her caring details. Every time when I had a question, she has the answer and she would mail us more related information for further learning. She introduced us to the wonder of rice sock and rebozo. During birth, she was patient and encouraging, taking notes of the details of the birth. I was amazed by the play-by-play record of the birth during her postpartum visit. We are so very grateful she was part of our birth experience again and our friendship has been deepened because of this special bonding experience.

Warm, gentle, and honest, that's Patsy.  Fully present from the moment we met and was fully engaged with me and my family (husband and 2 year old).  She provided us with insight, guidance, and encouragement that paved the road to my successful VBAC! She embodies the doula profession with such passion and it shows!!  She has a warm touch and uses gentle, honest words that feel like "motherly wisdom."  I'm forever grateful for our connection.

When searching for a doula, I wanted to find someone who was gentle, calm, intuitive, and encouraging, and Patsy Leo fit all of those characteristics. During prenatal visits, Patsy asked questions about my previous birthing experiences and listened to my concerns and hopes for my birthing experience this time around. She also included my husband in our conversations, and offered a listening ear for his concerns and needs from a husband and father's standpoint. She worked endlessly to provide me with reading material to guide my husband and I through the many decisions we needed to make in regards to all aspects of birth planning and postpartum care. In moments when my husband and I felt discouraged, she offered words of encouragement. We always left our prenatal meetings with Patsy feeling uplifted. Patsy was always readily available via text and email to answer any and all questions that we had. During my labor experience, I felt a sense of calm as soon as Patsy arrived. She brought upon a sense of ease and relaxation between contractions through her positive affirmations, gentle touch, and massage. During tough contractions, Patsy used affirmation to remind me of how strong I was and that my body was made for this, which helped me remain focused. My labor was everything I had dreamed it to be, thanks to the wonderful support of Patsy, my midwives, and my husband. Upon delivering my beautiful baby girl, Patsy cared for and nurtured me to make sure I was comfortable and well taken care of. She brought me extra pillows, covered me with blankets, made me hot tea, and even fed me a snack so I could remain completely focused on my baby. Patsy has a true gift, and I am forever grateful for her support during such a beautiful experience. I highly reccomend her to anyone expecting who is in search of a doula.

For my first two births, I wanted to go natural, but ended up having an epidural. For my third, I knew I needed a doula to have the natural birth that I desired. I chose Patsy Leo as my doula, and I am so thankful that I did! With her help, I was able to have the natural birth that I desired!

At our pre-delivery meetings, Patsy was always encouraging and positive. She never pushed her opinions but was able to provide me with information to help me make informed decisions. For example, she was able to provide me with articles on red raspberry leaf tea, progesterone shots, and vitamin K shots. She saved me HOURS of online research by providing me with articles from reputable sources so I could make informed decisions.

Towards the end of my pregnancy, I experienced prodromal labor. For 24 hours I had contractions 2-3 minutes apart that were very intense but then stalling. Patsy helped me walk through many different ideas to keep labor progressing. She accompanied us to the hospital and sat with us until 3 am when I was finally discharged after the labor stalled completely. I was exhausted and discouraged, but she very sweetly encouraged me through that whole trying day.

On the day of delivery, she arrived to the hospital 30 minutes after I called her. Her arrival was perfectly timed as I was hitting transitional labor with contractions coupling on top of each other. At that point, I had no idea what I needed and all of my reading and preparation was useless as I could not recall any ideas to help. She helped me find a position that was more comfortable, which allowed my contractions to space out. I am convinced if she didn't show up when she did, I would have ended up with an epidural. Her expertise was invaluable and helped me have the birth that I wanted! Even though my baby was just shy of 10 pounds, it was my easiest delivery and recovery, thanks to a skilled midwife and a magnificent doula.

My family is so blessed by Patsy! As a doula myself, choosing a doula for my own birth was something I was nervous about, but I couldn't have chosen a better woman to have by my side. Patsy has such a calming presence to her and is one of those people that can make you smile just by talking. Prenatally she provided wonderful support for my husband and I and was amazing through my bouts of prodromal labor. She always knew just what to say! I was at ease knowing that I could contact her whenever I needed to and that I would feel 100% supported.

Patsy ended up being with us for just over an hour while I was in labor, but was so attentive and calming through our contact prior to her coming! Having her there for the time in labor was worth every single penny. When I heard "someone just pulled in, I think it's Patsy" I felt like I was able to take a full breath. She walked upstairs with my favorite ice chips in hand (trust me, this is a big deal lol!) and from that moment on attended perfectly to my needs. Her encouragement, prayer, physical support, and even just being able to look up and see her smiling face made my labor so much easier. I can't imagine not having her there! My husband felt empowered and supported by her presence and my daughter absolutely loved her.

She stayed for several hours postpartum and was so incredibly helpful! My postpartum visit with her was heavenly and so so relaxing.

We couldnt have been happier with our experience and I'm happy to recommend her!

I can't say enough nice things about Patsy, she was Awesome at my birth.  She totaly embodied the doula job of "mothering the mother"  She saw what I needed before I did, and was gentle yet firm with her suggestions.  She did some amazing reboozo work through out and helped adjust my babies odd position so he could be brought down for birth.  She has a very calming presence that is so reafirming during labor.  Any woman would be lucky to have Patsy as part of thier birth team.  Well worth it for sure!!!

When searching for a Doula after mine had retired, the search seem so daunting. I had so many things I needed out of a Doula on my checklist that I didn't think I would ever find somebody who came close.
I needed somebody warm and inviting. I needed somebody who was soft-spoken but also had a heart of a warrior if I needed her to be.
I needed someone who would be motherly and nurturing, but also a stern voice of reason.
With Pasty Leo, I got all of that and more than I ever would have imagined from my checklist.
She was not only there for me on professional level... she granted me access to her life and heart on a personal and spiritual journey to my birth.
My last baby... One whom I have been waiting for through two losses... I journeyed with just a small, intimate group of people... and I am honored that she was a part of that.
She is forever imprinted on our family... and I consider her presence in getting my daughter here one of my greatest blessings to add to the memories of raising a family.
Thank you Patsy Leo.
You are a beautiful soul.

When I found out I was pregnant with my first, I committed my time to do as much reading as I could to be prepared for what could possibly happen in the next 9 months. At first I was sure that my husband would be enough support for me but as I kept reading, I began to realize that having a doula would be very helpful for not just me but also for him. The first time that my husband and I met with Patsy, I knew that she would be the perfect fit for us. During the labor, Patsy was right with us, encouraging me and keeping my spirits up. She is very knowledgeable in different techniques to help soothe and relax. During labor, time gets scrammbled and I didn't remember when things happened or how long They happened. Once our son arrived she made me something to eat and brought me hot tea. Patsy came for a 2 week postpartum appointment where she gave me a handwritten detailed list of when everything occurred which is something that I will cherish forever. Pasty is like part of our family and I am so glad she was able to be our doula.

Not everyone gets the birth experience she hopes for, but I was lucky enough to get mine. And Patsy helped make it possible.

A year ago, I didn't think I had it in me to get through pregnancy, labor and delivery. I have a serious case of "white coat syndrome" (fear of medical professionals/setting), and I've battled anxiety on and off for years. Patsy guided me (and my husband) through the ups and downs of pregnancy, and provided an endless supply of reassurance, unbiased advice and support. She was always there anytime we needed her and went above and beyond to ensure that we were as prepared and educated as possible prior to the birth of our son.

When I went into labor, she came to our house at 2 a.m. and coached me through my contractions until 6 a.m. when we headed to the hospital. I wanted to labor as long as I could at home (again, not a fan of hospitals), and that's exactly what I did. I was 8cm when I arrived! She was an excellent coach throughout the labor process and helped me have an unmediated birth without any interventions.

I honestly don't know if I could've gotten through the whole "adventure" without her! She made growing our family a reality...when even I didn't know whether it was possible. We are forever grateful for her and will always consider her part of our family.

Patsy has a warm and nurturing presence. I was able to quickly tell that Patsy was a very genuine person, truly interested in helping my husband and I have the birth experience we desired. She has superb attention to detail and is extremely attentive and perceptive to your needs. Patsy also shows a strong personal interest in getting to know you as a person and is very easy to talk to. Prior to labor, we met with Patsy and she helped us think through the specifics of our birth plan, allowing us to mentally and emotionally prepare for our little one’s arrival. Patsy would also check in on me, always providing some words of encouragement & sharing her excitement! During the day of my labor, Patsy was a calm, steady presence. Over the course of 12 hours, Patsy provided stability to the day & made me feel stronger and more capable of handling labor. Patsy had a lot of ideas for things to make me more comfortable and was great to talk to, helping pass the time! She also literally stood by my side for several hours of pushing, encouraging me, helping me calm down during breaks between pushes, never wavering in her support. It felt like I had known Patsy for a very long time in these moments, which is a testament to her personality & and how she approaches her role in the process. Following the birth of our son, Patsy continued to check in on me. She also came to our home about 2 weeks later to recap my entire labor, including a review of the copious notes she took during the process. Patsy is a genuine, caring, empathetic person who will contribute greatly to your birth experience. She works hard to customize her approach to your preferences, is thorough in getting to know you, and will help you evaluate your birthing options. She truly treasures the miracle of bringing a baby into this world and having this type of presence around you before and during the process adds so much to an already awesome experience!

Our experience with Patsy Leo as a doula in one word - phenomenal.  When my wife Christina decided to have a home birth she was somewhat nervous and as the meetings with the mid-wives progressed we felt it would be nice to have a doula for the extra support. We met Patsy at one of our meetings and instantly liked her and were thrilled to have her join our home birth team.

Patsy has a very direct and honest approach to things which we liked and also she has a sense of calmness and serenity that we felt was absolutely essential for Christina to make a rapport and also to work together. Patsy takes her doula role very seriously and was always avaialble for us. Even when things did not go as we planned it she was right by Christina's side even at the hospital. Offering words of encouragement and being her advocate.

Patsy is multi talented and she taught us both many things that helped us through the before, during and after the arrival of our baby girl. Her assistance did not stop there as she is also an expert in the art of Belly-binding which I am very familiar with coming from the Asian Continent. Under Patsy's guidance it has helped Christina tremendously in regaining her muscle tone and causing rapid post-partum repair.

As our profesional relationship draws to a close soon I am sure we have found not only an excellent doula but a good friend in Patsy and we would not hesitate to very highly recommend her without any reservations to anyone looking for the support of a doula during her pregnancy.

I highly, highly, highly recommend Patsy as a doula!  Patsy and I first met over the phone per my midwife's recommendation.  The instant I spoke to her I knew that she was the perfect doula for me.  After we met in person, I hired her on the spot!  Patsy is warm, friendly, caring, and a very skilled doula.  For me, I wanted a hands-on doula who would encourage me during the roughest parts of labor.  Patsy exceeded my expectations.  I had the most memorable and positive birth mostly because of Patsy. I am forever grateful.

A few friends asked me "why?" when they learned I was going to have a doula attend my third birth. It wasn't my first rodeo, I had done it twice before, I have an incredibly sweet and supportive husband, and a mother who has had four children of her own. The reason is simple, because I knew I needed one. My husband is not a woman, he doesn't understand the victorious agony as you gratefully enter transition and know you are even closer to meeting your new baby. My mother was too emotional, it troubled her to see me in a natural primal state where she couldn't quite understand why I chose the path of a natural childbirth.

Why should you choose Patsy to be your doula? What sets her apart? Patsy has an uncanny ability to dial into a mother during her labor and birth. It almost felt to me that she had a sixth sense or overwhelming presence and comfort and knew exactly what I needed when I needed it. She was able to bring from a state of unsure doubt to a state of confidence and triumph with her encouraging words, calm presence, and strength. She embodies everything that I think of when I think of a doula. My third birth was very different than my second, which Patsy also attended. What impressed me the most was that she was able to help me reach my natural childbirth goal when my needs were the complete opposite of my first birth. She watched me and just knew what I needed. Patsy cares, she truly cares. From the moment I sat down with her prior to my second birth it was crystal clear. She is so incredibly passionate about birth and cares monumentally for her clients. I truly love Patsy and will never forget the incredible impact her presence left on me and my amazing birth!

Patsy is a blessing as a doula. She assisted me during my *very* long labor and birth at home and was such a help. She was a very calming presence and helped my husband to help me labor well. We are truly grateful for her knowledge about birth, diligence in continuing education as a Doula, and her love of babies. Patsy faithfully checked in with me throughout my pregnancy and postpartum as well, making sure I was doing well at each stage. When the big day came, Patsy stuck with us for the long haul of labor and truly was a support during contractions. We are grateful to her and know she will bless many others in the birthing community of Cleveland.

After interviewing interviewing five doulas for the birth of my first child in July 2014, I finally found Patsy. We began working together later in my pregnancy (I'd been overseas until 32-weeks), yet I felt an instant connection. Patsy is kind, passionate, knowledgeable and very skilled at what she does. I felt confident I would have the birthing experience I wanted-- and I did. She gave me the courage to stand up for what I believed in and supported my decisions, regardless of what they were. Patsy stayed with me for over 24-hours while I was induced. I really don't think I would have had a drug-free birth without her!

Since my son's birth we continue to keep in touch. She has gone out of her way to provide me with the best care (both physical and emotional) and for that I am so thankful. Also, if you're ever looking for a book recommendation, she's your girl. It's great knowing she's only a call or text away!

God answered our prayers through bringing Patsy into our life when we were looking for a doula! We don't see her as our doula but a sister/friend. She is absolutely WONDERFUL!! I mean she truly brought wonders to my birth experience. She put off her Mother's Day celebration with her family just because she felt I might give birth that day. She was right! My labor started in the morning and she came right after we called her. We are eternally grateful for her timely arrival since my son came SO fast! It was my second birth and I didn't know what to expect since it was totally different from my first. She guided us through the whole process with patience, love, and prayers. She worked with my husband to make my birth as smooth as possible. She was my rock! My son was born after a two-hour intense labor before my mid-wife even arrived. We couldn't imagine my birth story without Patsy. My words are so inadequate to describe our gratitude. After the birth, she came to visit us and I really enjoyed getting to know her more as a friend! We would HIGHLY recommend her if you are looking for a doula!

Patsy was my doula for my February 2014 delivery. She has to be one of the most compassionate, patient, and genuine people I have ever met. She was there as a constant support though my 3 am " I think I am in labor" false alarms, to my actual delivery. I honestly thought that the only people I would ever have in the delivery room with me would be my mom and husband, until I met Patsy. The level of comfort and peace that she brought to my birth was irreplaceable! Everything from her encouraging words to her gentle personality helped me to achieve the birth of my dreams! She is so dedicated and knowledgable and is truly an advocate for the mom to be!  I would HIGHLY reccomend Patsy for your doula!

Patsy was truly more than just my doula. She was a Godsend for me and my husband. I could not have achieved my 36 hour marathon home birth without her!! She never left my side for 2 days straight and even missed her own birthday celebrations to be with me during the celebration of my first child's birth. Her peaceful, compassionate presence helped me through the trying times while her tireless arms massaged my back and relieved pressure with each contraction. Her doula skills were pushed to the max with my son's birth from making me food, applying constant massage, helping and working with my midwives and then cleaning my home afterwards, she was AMAZING! She embodies everything that a doula should be and more! I wish I had all the words to express my gratitude for all that she did for me. She was the greatest blessing at the most challenging, trying time and I thank God for her!
