Working with Grace was incredibly beneficial during my pregnancy and childbirth journey. Throughout my pregnancy, she provided support, answering all my questions, easing my anxieties, and empowering me with information to make informed decisions about my birth plan. She tought us massage techniques and other exercises for my needs. During labor she provided physical comfort, encouragement, and a calming energy. She provided postpartum follow up, offering advice and references for specific professionals.
Very happy with Grace services!

We were in need of a Doula to support us during the birth of our second daughter, while living abroad on Montreal’s West Island. We found Grace to be ideal because of her calm demeanor, experience level, and DONA certification. It is worth noting that Grace’s DONA certification allowed us to claim her invoice on our Sunlife insurance, which was provided by our employer in Canada.
Grace’s presence was calming and reassuring to both my partner and I. She knew exactly when to suggest a position change to make labor more comfortable. I always felt respected and never pressured. We had confidence that if any complications arose, Grace would be a level-head advocate working on our behalf.
Before the birth, Grace took the time to get to know us during several visits to our home. Grace taught us movements and stretches to make me more comfortable at the end of my pregnancy and to help prepare my body for the birth. Grace has expertise in baby positioning, which we were very appreciative of. By and large, we found these sessions with Grace much more helpful than the online birth classes we also followed.
Grace’s services concluded with a follow-up home visit, which was a welcomed opportunity to enjoy our new baby Willa and reflect on the birth experience. We would have no problem recommending Grace to any friends or family seeking out support during their next pregnancy.

Grace was our doula for our second son's birth. We asked her to work with us because my first labour was long and exhausting and we really needed extra support, but of course this one was short and straightforward! She asked me my preferences for interaction ahead of time and I told her I wanted matter of fact communication and lots of physical support, which is exactly what she did. She provided a heating pad when my back stayed sore between contractions and when I had chills, and it was especially lovely to have both her and my husband to massage my shoulders and back during and between contractions to help me relax and save my energy. I only wish she could have also been there for my first labour and delivery!

Grace is an excellent doula. She was always happy to research and share information based on our specific needs and she was very sensitive to our specific personalities, crafting our labor room experience into something that worked for us. She was always able to adjust as needed based on what was required in the moment. Grace's calm and collected manner really made the difference for us during labor. She was always happy to share sound advice and was an excellent advocate in the hospital setting. Thank you for your wonderful help bringing our baby into the world.

Grace was absolutely critical to our birthing process. We ended up in labor for 36 hours and, after all of that, having a C-section. Grace was emotionally and physically supportive the entire time. She helped us make decisions about if/when to start Pitocin, if/when to stop using the nitrous oxide and switch to an epidural for pain management, and through it all she was supportive as we tried to use the hypnobirthing techniques that we had practiced.
It was so helpful having another set of hands available during the contractions to help keep my wife calm and relaxed. Our labor was not short and there wasn't much more than a few minutes between contractions, so it was also nice having someone else in the room so that I could take a quick nap or go use the restroom without leaving my wife completely alone.
Grace helped us make sense of the information we were being given from the nursing staff and make calm, rational, informed decisions. She helped us keep the lighting soft and the calming music playing to make the experience as enjoyable as possible. She was willing to do anything that we needed and made pointed suggestions about aspects of the birthing process we either didn't know about or weren't thinking clearly about in the moment.
We were both very grateful to have Grace with us in the labor and delivery room!

I found Grace later into my pregnancy, at the recommendation of a mutual friend. I had already been thinking of contacting her, from information she had posted around town. She is very friendly and down to earth, and we have similar interests. All of our pre-labor meetings went fine.
When it comes time for actual labor, nothing goes according to plan of course. I was 10 days early and really assumed it was just false labor, though I had notified my ob and Grace, in case it was real.
1am, definitely real. Again, notified Grace we were going to hospital but didn't feel I immediately needed her. By 145, I had my husband call her again to come in.
We ended up using none of our discussed positions and techniques. Not because grace was not willing, but because I was not willing. She however, did exactly what I said I wanted as I wanted it and provided my husband with a but of relief from not having to be the only one dealing with my crazy requests.
My only regret with using Grace as doula is that I did not get to use all of her skills. I arrived at the hospital at 120 and at 342 my baby girl entered the world. We had some concerns afterwards and again, having grace there as a backup with my husband meant that while I was worried, I knew I would get all of the information I needed.
I would recommend having a doula to anyone and specifically and especially Grace. Having a baby is hard but Grace made it easier.

Grace was a superb support for my wife and I during labor. She was a terrific advocate for us during some very tricky moments, and there was nothing she wouldn't or didn't do for us. We highly recommend her to you!
