In this one time, 4 hour class, we will cover healthy pregnancy, preparing for birth, and birth choices by covering topics such as pregnancy diet and exercise, stages of labor, timing contractions, possible interventions both in and out of hospital, variations of normal, possible complications, birth postures, birth preferences both in and out of the hospital, comfort measures, postpartum rest period, postpartum mood disorders, basic newborn care, basic newborn concerns, basic newborn behavior, adjusting to life with baby, breastfeeding basics, postpartum diet and exercise. Class size is kept small to facilitate the ability to ask questions and have discussion and stick within our 4 hour class time. The instructor is experienced with teaching to people birthing in the hospital, birth center and home.
