I had high risk pregnancies, so I was not able to use Kate as a doula.  With our second child, Kate was one of the very first people to come to the NICU to see/hold our little 3 lb girl.  She was wonderful with her! I would defenitely recommend Kate as an amazing asset to any pregnancy/birth or postpartum experience. Seriously people, she is full of awesome.

I had my interview with Kate when I was 32 weeks pregnant. She was very easy to talk to and I felt the connection I was looking for with a doula. She came to a doctor's appointment with me a few weeks later and then spent a few hours at my house talking. She also was proactive about setting up a meeting with a back-up doula, just in case she couldn't make it to my birth. Kate was an awesome support during my extremely long, 60 hour labor. I really wanted a VBAC and Kate was committed to helping me achieve my goals. She was with me for the majority of 3 days, helped me labor at home, and then was with me in the hospital when I gave birth. She had great ideas for pain management and coping with contractions (heat wraps, massage, walking, positioning for me and baby, etc). I felt very confident having her there. She was also comforting and encouraging when I was discouraged and extremely tired. At the hospital she worked well with the nurses and answered any questions I had. Kate also worked well with my husband and they worked well as a team in helping me labor. She has a very gentle and soothing manner and also has a lot of wisdom and resources to work with. I would recommend Kate to anyone looking for a doula who is committed to supporting a mom through every step of her labor. I have known Kate for several years and find her to be a very well grounded and enthusiastic young lady. She is very passionate about the profession she has chosen and I find that refreshing. I would advise anyone who wanted to give birth in this way to contact Kate. I believe she is caring, loving and dependable. I know she will do well and will be a help to many mom's and dad's at the birth of their precious babies.

Thank you for allowing me this input.

Kate stepped in when i was very close to my due date since the doula in training that i hired was no longer available. She was amazing and very dedicated to her job. She is very young but wise way beyond her years. I didnt even know her age until after the birth and was shocked to learn how young she was. We had a very dramatic situation with an angry OB during a hospital birth and she handled it with the utmost professionalism. We already plan to have Kate if we decide to have any more children, with a midwife this time for sure!
