Dawn read me like a book.  She helped me push through the fear of being a first time mom.  I wanted to stay outside for the majority of my contractions and she encouraged this.  She could tell when I was about to have another contraction even before I did!  She used a couple techniques that helped my labor progress and without her help I think I would have labored longer.  My favorite techniques of hers were the doula squeeze, bouncing on the yoga ball, and frequent trips to the restroom.  I really enjoyed Jade's birth and I really don't think it would have gone as smooth if she weren't there.  It was one of the most wonderful experiences of my life and the next time I'm pregnant I definetely plan to call her!  Dawn is a God sent!

I met Dawn at church. She is such a sweet lady. I had never intended to have a doula but after a conversation one day, we decided on it. I called her with all my questions. She was there with answers for everything with a calm, reassuring voice of wisdom. I went into labor at 4am. I called her and she was over within a few minutes. My husband was in denial that I was in labor so I would have been facing it pretty much alone, or I'd have gone to the hospital immediately and been pumped full of unnecessary medicine. Dawn helped me with each contraction. She wasn't overbearing. She let me lead, but she helped my husband and I both in going through labor. I had a short labor, only four hours. I told her when I was ready to go to the hospital and she came with us and held my hand. I gave birth to my son naturally with no medical intervention. I never would have been able to do it without her. I am so proud of myself for going through it and finishing without any pain meds, but it would have been impossible without Dawn. Even though I did not have a home birth, I am so thankful I had a friend there to help me with all the unknowns and pain. I'm so thankful for my Doula!

Dawn Housos is simply amazing. She has been given a talent to understand mothers and the ins and outs of pregnancy and boy does she use that talent well! Dawn was my doula at our second home birth. I can't believe what a difference it made in labor and delivery that she was by my side, compared to my first home birth without a doula present. She was very encouraging and helpful during the weeks leading up to delivery and very insistent on asking me how I was feeling and if I needed anything. Once I told her I felt the beginning of labor she was by my side immediately all day ( about 12 hours) doing everything I needed before I ever asked. She brought with her knowledge, confidence,a warm nurturing attitude, perfect timing in presence when I needed her most, and the excellent ability to create a calm atmosphere. Those are just a few of the many more wonderful qualities that describe her. She enabled me to feel empowered and focused on the task at hand and made sure I had everything I needed to keep my mind and body relaxed and comfortable. And my favorite part- she constantly reminded me I was amazing(every laboring woman needs to hear that!) Dawn provided excellent assistance during delivery, literally holding my hand every step of the way. Dawn was there to answer any questions I had health related, gave me informed advice on breastfeeding and was willing to check up on me post partum. I would HIGHLY recommend New Dawn Birth Services for any birth setting. You won't be disappointed in the care you will receive! I was honored to have her by my side.

I love my doula! She was the best coach and encouragement that I think I could have ever had. Between her and my husband I don’t think that I could have made it without them. She knew exactly what I needed when I needed. When I was tired and worn down she was very thoughtful and knew what to do to keep me going. I would recommend Dawn at any birth weather a home, at a birthing center or even at a hospital. She would make sure that you got the care that you deserved and the wishes that you desired! Did I mention that I love my doula!
