Client Testimonials for Elise Mortensen
Eagle Monson
Hello. My experience with Doula Elise Mortensen will be from a guy's perspective. I am writing this review because it will be beneficial for husbands to read, as they are an important part of the whole process. Elise is very knowledgeable and is a great birthing coach and was vital source of information and encouragement months before the actual birth and has continued to be a great resource post birth.
During the birthing experience I seemed pretty useless, was stressed out a little, and my energy seemed to be sucked out of me (because I felt there was more I should do to make things better but really could not) until Elise encouraged me to message my wife’s feet, stroke her hair, etc. I was distracted and Elise brought me back into the moment, which created a very comfortable environment. She also respected everyone’s space and wishes without having to be asked for some time alone or when my mother-in-law wanted to be with her baby.
Long story short, every guy needs a birthing coach a.k.a. Doula Elise. She knows the game and how to make it where everyone comes out a winner! She is a must have part of your birthing experience and worth every penny!

I contacted Elise long before my due date and not only was she helpful with the birth, but if I had questions about the pregnancy I knew I could call her and she would give me very helpful advice and information about what was going on. She helped me with my birth plan as well which was very nice because she thought of things that I never would have. It sounds silly but I wasn't sure before the birth how much I wanted her there but when it came down to it I wanted her there the whole time. She was super supportive and was a strength to me, my mom and my husband. She helped us all relax and stuck up for me and what I wanted. I was induced and am positive that if she wasn't there I would have gotten the epidural but I didn't. She will be at all of my children's births.

I am a mother of three children. My first two children I had epidurals and would swear by them. When I got pregnant with baby #3 I decided I would have Elise as my doula. Elise sat down with me and told me about the different things she could do, and also things she could help my husband do, to make the labor go smoother. After meeting with her the first time, I expressed to her that I wanted my epidural and she didn’t try to change my mind but by the second visit I had decided to try to not have a epidural. Whenever I had any questions, no matter what time, she would answer them and if she didn’t know the answer right then, she would research, then get back with me. Elise helped me decide what I wanted for my birth plan. (Which I had never done before) During the labor process, Elise was great at explaining things to me, about what the nurse has saying, also she would speak on my behalf, which I very much liked during contractions. She also was really great at suggesting ways to keep me up and doing things, but would not force me to do anything. With Elise as my doula, I only pushed for 30 minutes. With my previous two labors I pushed for 2.5 hours. So with Elise I was able to cut 2 hours from pushing. After the baby was born Elise suggested they place the baby directly on me, which in turn help my baby girl to latch on right away and of my three children she has been the best nursing. I would highly recommend Elise as a doula. Elise, Thank you so much for all that you did for me and my little baby Jamie!! If we have a baby #4 I will be calling you!!
