Relevant volunteer or advocacy work: Your confidence to labor and birth will be effectively boosted through education, encouragement and role playing of real life scenarios during our pre-natal visits in your home. On your BIRTH day you will fully TRUST your body to labor and birth your baby; TRUST your baby to cooperate with the natural course of birth; and to TRUST your birth experience to be filled with a sense of empowerment and celebration. It’s a story you will tell for the rest of your life – so let’s make it a great one!
As we create the space for you to bond as you work together to bring your child into your world my prayer is always that my services will result in you standing in awe of the amazing abilities of your body, the absolute miracle of your birth and the unimagined depths of the love and respect you have for yourself, each other and your new little one. Each birth finds everyone in attendance standing face-to-face with the reality that they have just witnessed a very holy and deserving-of-being-honored-time in the life of each family. My goal is always for the parents to never miss the miracle of their birth!

Birth doula fee: $750 to $950 Fee details: If you have seen or sensed something after reading my profile that makes you want to explore having me as your doula then let's definitely have a conversation. I believe every woman who wants a doula should have one - and the one you want!
1-1 hour PreNatal Interview
2-2 hour PreNatal Information Sessions
I'm on call 24/7 beginning two weeks prior to EDD
I join you in labor at your home, transfer to hospital/birthing center, with you throughout your entire labor and birth until 2 hours after birth. All the normal transitions have taken place and it's then time for everyone to rest or call family and friends to come celebrate.
I visit 24 hours later for follow-up to answer questions you have about your labor and birth, take pictures, celebrate and to fill in any gaps. I also offer a 2 hour 5-7 day postpartum visit in your home if you determine that would be beneficial.
If hiring me as your doula would cause financial hardship at the above prices, let's talk.
Client Testimonials for Pamela Black, CD(DONA)
Stephanie Bennetts
Pam was the perfect addition to our birth team. The first time my husband and I met her, we both agreed that she was exactly the type of person we wanted to support us with our daughter's birth. She was confident and immediately began to make me feel more empowered and confident in myself. Throughout my pregnancy she continued to build my confidence in myself and her ability to support us.
Our prenatal meetings really helped my husband and I prepare for the birth (our daughter is our 2nd child, so we had already been through the Bradley Method classes) and envision a successful no medicated birth. Pam's questionnaires and information she provided were extremely valuable. I also appreciated that she was always encouraging my husband and wanted to make sure that we were on the same page at all times.
We didn’t want to “bother” Pam, so we waited a little too long to call her on the day of the birth, however, she was at our house as quickly as she could be. The moment she arrived she was able to calm me and my husband immediately (I was already in transition) and helped us to quickly make the decision to head to the hospital. I felt a tremendous sense of calm and strength as she encouraged me to trust my body. She didn’t leave my side as we made our way in to the hospital and ensured that my wishes were known to the staff. She continued to support us after our daughter’s arrival making sure we were all well cared for.
Pam exceeded all of my expectations and thankfully was able to capture photos/video of our birth since the camera was left in the car! She gave me the most wonderful foot massage once we were in our postpartum room and helped us to settle in and actually be able to rest. I am so grateful that she was a part of our team and will be calling her if/when we have another baby :o)
