I love my work and it has gifted me with great sensitivity and intuitive abilities that allow me to "hold space" for and provide gentle nurturing for a laboring mother & her partner. The birth of our first child was a unique experience. He was born three months early while my husband and I were out of town. With the due date of our second child fast approaching, we were determined to be more prepared. We attended a birthing class and listened to the instructor highlight the benefits of hiring a doula. It was a no brainer. We wanted (and needed) the extra support and experience in the delivery room with us. We were given of a list of recommended local doulas at the birthing class and we interviewed several. We felt an instant connection with Melinda. Her personality and energy were a perfect match for us. She provided support and practical advice before, during and after the birth of our beautiful daughter. She helped me realize my birth plan goals, providing for a positive birthing experience. She also provided several well-needed massages before the birth. In the delivery room she was in her element, providing peaceful comfort, support, encouragement and helpful advice. Somehow she even found time to take wonderful pictures of our daughter’s awakening. Melinda stayed by our sides well into the night and continued to provide support for all three of us. After bringing our daughter home, Melinda visited and performed a postpartum massage and craniosacral therapy for both me and our little one. Our family cannot thank Melinda enough for all she did and we would not hesitate to recommend her passionate and inspired services to anyone beginning their own childbirth journey.
