Client Testimonials for Meghan Donovan
Christine Simoneau
Meghan's support was instrumental to the success of our child's birth. The prenatal information sessions about labour and birth, breastfeeding and newborn care were very helpful. Meghan was enthusiastic and knowledgeable while answering all of our questions, which created an immediate bond. We especially enjoyed her hands-on infant care demonstrations using a doll. During the labour, Meghan's presence was calming. She respected our personal space and was adept at reading the situation, only intervening when we needed a hand, which allowed us to feel intimate as a couple. She also said many encouraging words that reassured us. We were extremely happy that Meghan came to visit us two days after the birth of our son. We had many questions and worries about breastfeeding, to which she offered her expertise and comforted us once more. Meghan is a professional, caring and devoted doula! We are immensely grateful and highly recommend her!

We are so delighted to have had Meghan Donovan as our doula. We couldn’t be happier with the entire birth experience and Meghan played a key role in making it all possible. She helped us to prepare for the big event by asking my partner and me key questions for reflection during her home visits prior to the birth, and by coaxing us towards the realization that nothing is predictable or totally controllable during labour. This way we were more ready to let the process unfold organically and take each challenge as it came. She is approachable, reachable, reliable, and generous with her time.
During the labour itself, I found Meghan to have a calming presence. She remained grounded, focused, and brought beverages and homeopathic medicines to encourage comfort and healing. She massaged my lower back during contractions to ease the labour pains. She offered suggestions for different positions during labour. I was particularly grateful for the one I ended up using to birth my son; she adjusted the hospital bed into an upright sitting position, and then I knelt towards the head of the bed, gripping the top. I wouldn’t have thought of it on my own in the moment, and for me it felt like the most natural position in which to push.
We highly recommend Meghan. She helped us to feel cared-for before, during, and after the birth.

P.S. She also makes a very hearty and tasty pasta dish!
