Client Testimonials for Melanie Aldenbrand
Josie Hufnagel
I cannot possibly express how valuable having a doula throughout your pregnancy and birth is. Especially when that doula is Melanie! I was fortunate to be able to have Melanie at both of my daughters births. Her insight, compassion and support helped me through two trying labors and ultimatly two radically different birth experiences. My first pregnancy I strived for an all natural birth with a midwife at an out of hospital birth center. Unfortunately I went overdue and had to induce due to very low fluid levels. Melanie helped me to labor for 42 hours, before my daughters condition necessitated an emergency c-section. I could not have made it that long with out Melanie's support, and although many people would be upset with a c-section as their final outcome, I have great peace knowing it was what was best for my baby.
6 months after the birth of my first daughter I become pregnant again, I knew I wanted a VBAC and with such a short interval between births it was going to be an uphill battle. Melanie again was a tremendous support to me as I faced complications from my previous cesarean that threatened to prevent my VBAC. In the last few weeks of pregnancy my complications resolved and I was so excited to try for a vaginal delivery. The day before my due date I came down with the stomach flu and it put me into labor. 15 hours later and some scares of a repeat c-section, Melanie helped me to achieve a VBAC! I am so thankful for her support and feel very fortunate to have had her at my births.
