Lyssa is an amazing doula as well as an amazing person. She is very gentle mannered and down to earth. I had a long and difficult labor with my twins, that went on for over 2 days. In the beginning of the labor when the pain was still mild and tolerable, my husband and I thought "Maybe we can get through this by ourselves without calling Lyssa?" but 5 or 6 hours later when the real back-to-back pain started to kick in, we knew we needed her help. I was in so much pain that I don't exactly remember when she arrived at the hospital, but as soon as she got in, she did everything she could to help me calm down and ease the pain, as well as guiding my husband to assist me in many ways. I really loved that she always stayed low key and was never over-powering... she was almost like a yoga teacher. I intended to have non-medicated natural births, but after 2 days of non stop contractions I had to have Epidural. I felt like I've failed at that point, but Lyssa was so supportive and told me I did everything I could and everything was going to be ok. Anyways until the twins arrived by an emergency c-section, Lyssa was there for us through all the difficulties and a sleepless night, and she probably heard this from us about a dozen times, but we really couldn't have done this without her. Thank you so much Lyssa, it was an honor to have you as our doula, and you are the best!!!

We are grateful to Lyssa for helping share in our baby story. From the beginning Lyssa took her role as educator & support system seriously. She took time to answer any questions & gave us tips & tricks on planning for our big day. This was particularly important since I was advised, last minute, by my medical team to come to the
hospital for an induction from complications. Despite this unexpected development, Lyssa's presence helped us stay on track with our birth-plan to have a natural unmedicated birth. She helped support our decisions with the medical staff & never did we feel as if we were not in control; It was our birth & she helped us make that clear to the team. Lyssa helped us make the best of a scary situation & we had fun during the process. Working with her was one of the best decisions we made in planning for our birth. Thank you Lyssa!
Best, Maria, Carlos & Sofia

I can’t say enough about Lyssa and the support she provides. Her devotion to assisting women in giving birth is inspirational. She helped me tremendously, both physically and mentally – before, during and after labor.
During labor, she helped me stay strong and get through the pain by massaging me, applying counter pressure and holding my hand. Her guidance allowed me to relax through the contractions and push efficiently and effectively.
Lyssa is calm, open, and understanding. She was everything I wanted in a doula and so much more. Meeting her was one of the greatest blessings of my pregnancy.
I will always be immensely grateful for Lyssa’s soothing presence during the birth of my son. She also took wonderful pictures of the delivery! I strongly recommend Lyssa as a doula.

A friend of ours knew Lyssa and introduced us (I was 7 months pregnant and really didn't know what a doula was or how using a doula might benefit both my husband and I).
We met with Lyssa on several occassions before delivery and through those experiences we felt that Lyssa was a calm, caring resource. It became very clear that having her help could ease our minds. While we love our friends and families, it was wonderful to find a third party that we could communicate with easily and was there to be an advocate, comforter, reminder, and an extra set of hands.
Both my husband and I praise Lyssa and feel that Melina's birth was so successful and a wonderful experience having had her guidance.
