Client Testimonials for Elizabeth Maurer, CD(DONA)

Beth assisted us in the birth of our second child. We wanted to try to do it naturally this time, so Beth told us all the services she would be able to provide to help us with our wish. First, my husband and I took advantage of the fact that she did at-home massages (what a nice treat). She also introduced us to tapes (audio & visual) she had to help us learn relaxation techniques. Beth is an amazing source of calm. Even upon meeting her for the first time, we knew she would be great as our coach. She met w/ us to discuss our birth plan and what we wanted and didn't want in the labor room. She explained that she had a variety of different ways she could use to help relax the mom during labor--including aromatherapy, pressure-points, breathing techniques, use of the tub, etc. She was very thorough and followed up with us on a regular basis via email or visits at home. On labor-day, we rushed to the hospital and Beth was by my side helping me breath through every contraction and relax in-between (providing chapstick and icechips and more calming words). While I loved that my husband was by my side, I needed Beth to talk me through those tough peaks. She was very relaxed and encouraging...she knew exactly what I needed to hear. I had my baby drug-free (she came fast!) and I was so excited that I met our desired "goal" (what a high!); I don't know if I would have without Beth's presence. Afterwards, Beth visited us at home and brought both of my daughters a little something. Beth is very talented and I was grateful to have her as my surrogate-mom! :)

We recently used Beth's services to help us prepare for our baby's birth. She was nothing short of amazingly supportive. She helped us work on our birth plan and pointed out things that we had overlooked. Beth was very knowledgeable and helpful with respect to answering the many questions we had surrounding what could happen during labor and delivery. At the hospital, Beth was firm and encouraging when supporting me, which was exactly what I needed. We had conversations with Beth during our initial meetings where she asked what we wanted her role to be. She did not disappoint and honored our every request! On top of being there in a support capacity for us, she was also a invaluable support to my mother who was also present. After our son was born, Beth was genuinely happy for us which made me feel great. Finally, her services include a prenatal and postnatal massage, the prenatal massage was so relaxing and I cannot wait to be able to get the postnatal!

We enlisted support from Beth Maurer during the birth of our son. From our first meeting with her, we were comfortable and at ease with Beth’s approach. When we had questions about the birth process, she demonstrated how knowledgeable she was and explained even the most intricate details. We were overjoyed by her commitment and attention to detail and she really took time to be readily available to us. When we had a few complications during labor, we were assured by Beth’s unique style and enthusiasm. Her skills were thorough and we would highly recommend her to anyone having a child. Beth is amazing and really went above and beyond the call of duty!

Beth was amazing during my daughter's birth! She was there for me leading up to the birth and during my labor, letting me focus on my task at hand. She was a major relief for my husband as well. She supported my birth plan and everything went exactly as planned. I couldn't have asked for a better birth experience
