Client Testimonials for Melissa McIntire, LMT OR lic#16696
Christal L Florin
From Day 1, Melissa McIntire was fully engaged, available with resource information, massage, and helping in anyway. I began laboring at home, calling Melissa when I got “uncomfortable”. She came right over (HUGE RELIEF!) She spent time with me walking, bathing, breathing, positioning and working on pressure to my back/hips through contractions. She focused on relieving pain (back labor) using successful techniques. She timed contractions and fetched ice with my husband running around in a frenzy.
Melissa travelled to the hospital with us, helping with the check in. She was there from the moment we walked in the door until after baby was born. I appreciated her help in all aspects (tub, walking halls, yoga ball, MANY bathroom trips, holding my hand.) Thanks to Melissa, I was able to stick with the birth plan. She was strong, supportive and helped me believe I was in control and could totally handle the situation. When I expressed interest in the epidural, she just reminded me that I was doing great and drugs were an option. She also cautioned that it might take longer. Happy to report, I decided against it!
One of the great things Melissa did for me postpartum was support when I couldn’t deliver my placenta. During that time she never once left my side. That was especially important to me since my husband was checking on the baby, in the special care nursery. Since the birth, Melissa, Trinity and I have had a special bond. Melissa also cared for Trinity part-time as a nanny when I returned to work.
Melissa has always given so much love and attention to both Trinity and I though this process. Melissa is the type of person that genuinely cares about people and she is also a talented LMT. I would whole heartedly refer you to use her doula services if you are looking for someone who is a wonderful coach, positive presence, highly organized and altogether AWESOME!!!
