Client Testimonials for Amber Plyler
Katrina Siron
After I had a c-section with my son, I knew I wanted a different experience for my second delivery. Since I intended to VBAC, I knew I needed all the help I could get, and among other things, that meant hiring a private doula. I was so glad to find one that had a VBAC herself at the hospital I was delivering at. Her own experience, plus her experiences with clients helped her give me the support I needed before and during the birth. I can honestly say that I hired a doula and gained a friend.
I was induced with my first baby because I was almost 2 weeks late. I knew that was a possibility with my second. I chose a different practice with my second and after learning they would automatically c-section at 40 weeks, without any other medical indication that it was needed, Amber's helped me find a different practice and her support helped me have the courage to change practices at 30 weeks. I did go past 40 weeks. At 41+5, the new doctor was thinking a csection might be needed again for various reasons. Amber gave me suggestions to help labor along and I went into labor that night. My precious baby girl was born by VBAC after only about 10 hours. I couldn't imagine doing it without Amber's help and support. She stayed with me until we were truly settled in our room. It was great to work with her, I would do it exactly the same way if I were to do it all over.

I feel so blessed to have had Amber Plyler as the doula for the birth of my daughter Alyssa. I had a doula for the birth of my son and was terrifed to even think of delivering a child without the help of a doula. I am so glad I was referred to amber becuase she made the transition from pregnancy to postpartum an enjoyable experience. I met amber over the phone at 38 weeks gestation and due to the distance between us we did not meet face to face until the day of my delivery. Prior to the delivery Amber helped me to write a birth plan that I was comfortable about and educated me about all terms I was unfamiliar with. During the delivery, she did a tremendous job in helping the ease the pains of labor. Her bedside manner was gentle and comforting. Alyssa's father was so grateful to have had Amber there. Her skill allowed him to freely comfort me without any stress. It was a great experience. The best thing of all is that Alyssa's birth is documented in the beautiful, high quality photos Amber took before and after delivery.
