Client Testimonials for Elizabeth Carey,CD(DONA)
Amanda Riggs
Elizabeth was a great fit for me and my husband for our first birth experience. Not knowing what we were going to encounter, but knowing we wanted a non-medicated birth, led us to choosing a doula.
When we met Beth we were immediately comfortable with her. She was kind and honest and honored to be a part of our experience. I kept her posted on my progress through the last month of my pregnancy, and she had her cell phone on her 24/7. When the time came, she even beast me to the hospital!
Once I was in the hospital, I was going nowhere fast, but a sonogram that morning measured my son to be only 5 pounds, so the doctors were worried that something was wrong with the baby. We had to wait almost 24 hours before my water was broken and the real labor began. Beth never left. She slept in the hall of the hospital so my husband could sleep in my room. She also reassured me the whole time that my baby was fine. Her confidence and support helped ease some of the worry. She also helped to get a birthing ball in my room even though the nursing staff wasn't so obliging. But Beth was persistent.
When I was in the final few hours Beth helped us stick to our plan. Beth followed interpreted what we needed and followed suit. She helped keep me comfortable, ran between the delivery room and the waiting room to keep our families informed, and helped support me when I was too exhausted to continue.
I had my son right at lunch time, and all I wanted was a turkey sub! Beth went and bought my husband and I lunch so that my first meal would be what I wanted instead of the hospital food. It was a very kind gesture.
Beth is a wonderful doula with a true compassion for what she does. She is easy going and helpful. She adjusts to your individual needs and gives unending support when you need it most.
