Client Testimonials for Klarissa Jones, AAHCC
Lisa Stahlman
Klarissa was a godsend as a doula for my home birth. I started having contractions on Thursday. I was actually sent home from work because of the contractions. We had a meeting with our midwife later that night and she said that we probably wouldn't have the baby that night, but maybe the next day. Well, the contractions were still pretty bad at around 7pm, so we called Klarissa and she came over. She helped me breath through the contrations and just helped me out in general. The midwife and crew came around 9pm. I still hadn't progressed from my earlier visit, so they recommended Tylenol PM to help me sleep. Klarissa was great and stayed the night, but my contractions slowed down and were managable the next day, so we sent her home. I awoke at 1am the next morning (Saturday) with timeable contractions. We called Klarissa at 2am and she was there by 3am. This time I was having back labor (a posterior baby, we didn't know), so she and my husband took turns massaging my back and heating up rice socks for me. Klarissa talked me through the contractions and held my hand. She held my vomit bowl for me, and made sure my husband ate through the whole thing. When I asked my midwife to break my water, she gave us a few choices, including going to the hospital. My husband was ready to go, but Klarissa backed me up, she knew I could handle it. Once I started to actually push, she helped me in all the positions I was trying. I eventually had to be almost on back because of the back labor, but she helped keep my leg up for me so my husband could catch the baby. Klarissa was with us for three whole days and she was wonderful the whole time. She helped me remember all my Bradley training and was just a good person to have there during my labor. I would definitely use her for our next child.
