I had been told about doula's, but never quite understood what their worth was until I had one. My experience with Kaurina started with my second born child. She has great listening skills and the ability to draw out the best in me. She learned and understood my fears of not wanting to have another traumatic birthing experience, and also took the time to learn my dreams for the next birth. I was determined to have an informed and fearless birthing experience. Kaurina helped me face those fears and common prejudices that we have been taught by society.
With my first 3 pregnancies each had their hardships. My first one was a stillborn at 27 weeks. The second was breech, and I felt coerced into a c-section. The epidural didn't work properly and I could feel the surgeon cutting me. It was quite traumatic. The 3rd baby was also breech. I had some fear and anxiety from my past experiences. I had Kaurina’s doula support for my third pregnancy. She spoke to me with so much respect, it instilled the belief in my heart and mind that I could be calm and strong in spite of the circumstances.
I chose Kaurina as my doula again with my 4th pregnancy. Her unwavering belief in my ability to have the birth experience I wanted made all the difference. It made me believe in myself. Despite my fears, I was able to tune in to my body and my baby and let go of irrational fears. I had a homebirth, surrounded by my the love of my partner and kids.

Karuina is an amazing doula. She goes above and beyond any kind of care. She goes out of her way for her clients. Anybody should be as lucky to have her as their doula. Provide support for the whole family not just mama bear to be.

Kaurina gave me the confidence and supported I needed leading up to my delivery. Going into my first pregnancy I was extremely nervous about labour and being a new mom. Kaurina was just the doula I needed. She talked me through my concerns and taught me some simple techniques to calm my nerves. During my labour she was incredibly supportive. Not to mention her massages alleviate a lot of the pain I was experiencing during labour.

For my first birth, I didn't have a great experience, so the second time around, I wanted to try to do things differently and have a VBAC.

Kaurina was a God-send. I didn't have the confidence or courage to have a natural home birth, but Kaurina gave me the strength and encouragement I needed.

From the prenatal visits to the birth of my son, she was there for me every step of the way. I honestly couldn't have had such a wonderful second birthing experience without Kaurina!

I met Kaurina as a mutual working Doula and connected with her right away we even attended another birth together as Doulas together supporting another family.  It was a great opportunity for me to see what kind of Doula Kaurina is and the way that she supports another women  before, during and after childbirth.   I have worked with many other people in my own birth work but when my husband and I discovered  we were expecting our 5th child  it was an automatic " Kaurina will be our Doula"  we just had to hope she was available for our expected due date.  

To us our birth experience should be fairly straightforward although we knew that my age of 47 years old would deem me as "high risk"  by the medical system.  Kaurina has a deep understanding of what this means for families navigating the birth of their child within the medical system and what evidence based care truly is. (We had a home birth 2021)  Hands down I could not ask for a better support person . My husband felt more empowered aswell having Kaurinas full support.

Anyone who is looking for a Doula would be  very lucky to get a person like Kaurina on their birth team, and quite possibly a friend for life.

Kaurina was my rock throughout my pregnancy when I found out my girl was breach at 37 weeks and a v-bac she supported me to make choices that were aligned with who I am and with the vision I had. We made it through and I felt empowered in the choices I made and supported emotionally and physically during the birthing process. Later in my pregnancy I also discovered her gift for Shiatsu which was a god sent and utilized this up until a year post partum ?? thank you Kaurina for assisting me to bring our last baby, baby Oak into the world!

When my wife and I knew that we we're having a baby it was the best news. Unfortunately it was in the middle of the pandemic and we knew that having a hospitalp birth was going to be out of the question. For me it was an un-nerving thought. I had my concerns  about a home birth. 
kaurina made it very easy for us. She has the experience and expertise that made that birth the easiest and most stress free out of the three births I've attended. I highly recommend kaurina for any and all births. Hopefully you're lucky enough to have her as your doula!
