Client Testimonials for Alicia Watson

I am a perinatal therapist, doula and childbirth educator in Bellevue and have known Alicia for several years. When it came time to prepare to birth our fourth child I knew exactly what I needed in a doula. I needed someone who would be calming, wise and intuitive to know what I needed and when. I knew without a doubt that Alicia would be this person. My labor was nothing like I expected it to be. I was over the coure of a couple of days although manageable it was difficult to take care of the kids during it. The day before she was finally born we called Alicia over to just be there with us. Knowing her calm and cool demeanor was so close by brought me so cvery much peace. She spent that morning playing with and occupying my older children, freeing my husband to be by my side. Eventually my labor spaced out again so we decided to send her home and 'do life'. When the time for the birth came it came so fast there was no time for Alicia to get to us. However she did arrive within minutes of the birth and was amazing. She took care of the children, my husband and of course me. She was nothing short of an Angel. Postpartum she checked on me within a few days bringing food and smiles.
I can say without a doubt that Alicia was the abolute perfect doula for us and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone I know!

I met Alicia through Bradley Method Classes; her easy demeanor and calming presence made me feel better right away. When my baby flipped breech at 37 weeks, she skillfully pointed me in the way of many natural methods to try to coax my baby the right way. When we ran out of time, she supported me through a procedure where the doctor and midwife attempted to manually flip my baby girl from the outside. Although the procedure was unsuccessful, Alicia encouraged me to relax and wait to see what would happen when I went into labor.
Four days later, my water broke and I went into labor still in breech position. Alicia taught me was to trust the process. In my case, I felt that trusting the process meant trusting my instincts, my body, and above all my baby. When I chose the C-section, I did not feel judged. She encouraged me when I asked for some time to labor on my own before the C-section. Alicia was very kind about giving my husband and me privacy while I showered and he rubbed my back through the contractions. When I was ready and I needed her again, she jumped right in without missing a beat.
After the surgery I was a mess, but Alicia was there reassuring me again and again. We discovered that baby girl had wrapped the cord around her neck FOUR TIMES, and that she would not have had enough room to even come through the birth canal. Alicia gave me hope that there could be a natural birth next time, and that I had succeeded in having a healthy baby and a safe birth. If you do have a C-section, you do need a doula. Iif Alicia had not been there I would be telling a very different story. I know that I may not have been able to hold it together quite as well as I did, if I hadn’t had so much love and support in that room. Alicia may not even know it, but she made a huge impact on my birth story and my life.
I highly recommended her and from the bottom of my heart I thank her for all that she has done for my family.
