Brittany Joiner Doula Profile

 Brittany was my daughter's doula. When Lacey said she hired a doula, I wasn't even sure what that was or why she needed one when she had myself and her husband. Brittany went above and beyond with my daughter's labor experience. She helped us help her and even allowed and showed me how to use some techniques on Lacey to help get the baby turned. Whether it was special techniques and things I had never heard of or just running to get ice chips/water or helping Lacey into the shower during her early contractions, Brittany's services were priceless. I was so glad that my daughter had someone like Brittany during such an amazing yet new time of her life. 

 Brittany was amazing. She stayed with me for the full time I was in labor, helped keep me informed during labor when my mind was elsewhere and they were throwing medical jargon around, and even showed my husband and my mother ways to comfort me, help me during labor, and how to best support me the whole time. I had back labor due to a posterior baby and if it wasn't for Brittany and the skills she brought with her, I would have never been able to labor un-medicated for 12.5 out of 18 hours! She also helped me turn my baby during labor with positioning techniques and accu-pressure! I already told my family when my husband and I have baby #2, we're hiring Brittany again!

I had the lovely experience of getting to see Brittany Joiner work with my fiancee on November 25, 2011.

She was very informative and completely supportive on every choice we made even if it was one that she did not fully agree with. She took time out days before the delivery when we thought we had a case of early labor to be with us and even potentially helped move things along. She used mental and physical exercises to ease my fiancee's pain through the labor.

She was without a doubt the biggest asset we had through the whole pregnancy and delivery.

Brittnany was absolutely wonderful!! I couldn't have picked a better person to be there with me through my pregnancy and birth!! She kept track of my appointments., and even attended a few of them with me. Being my first pregnancy and not knowing everything that goes along with it, she was able to give me an idea of what to expect. She also helped inform me of all of my options, and fullly supported me in my choices. I had a scheduled induction for my birth, and she was there as soon as we arrived at the hospital. She was very compatible with the doctors and hospital staff, and stayed by my side the entire time, offering support , encouragment and relaxation. She even showed my fiance techniques to help me relax!!! Brittany is amazing at what she does!! Although I dont plan on having anymore children, I won't hesitate to give her a call if I ever get those two pink lines again!! I will be reccomending her to my pregnant friends and family!!!
