I was lucky to find Trisha Olow when searching for a doula for the birth of my daughter. Trisha came well prepared and was able to answer all of my questions and concerns about the impending labor. She is an extremely kind and caring person, and I was able to immediately relax in her presence. As a first time Mom-to-Be I was very nervous about what was to come, and had my own ideas about how I wanted the labor to play out. Trisha was great at identifying how we could accomplish my goals for the birth, while also providing me additional information and advice that I had not considered. My labor ended up being quite difficult, and Trisha was there to encourage me, provide support, and really advocate on my behalf when it came time to make medical decisions for the labor. I was extremely relieved to have Trisha with me during the birth, and would recommend Trisha to anyone interested in doula services. In fact, if I happen to get pregnant again, I will be looking Trisha up for another round!
I was so happy that I had a doula with me for the birth of my son. Trisha gave me great advice and the right encouragement throughout my labor. Even though I doubted myself, with her encouragement I was able to deliver without any pain medications or any other interventions. I'm so happy with my birth experience!!!!!
Who would have thought that the second time around that I mentioned in my previous testimonial would be so soon! When I found out I was expecting for the second time, I had to let Trisha know right away because I know that I wanted and needed her to be my doula. I was not able to have the water birth that I so longed for the first time around but Trisha said there were no BUTs this time. I really wanted to give birth at the birth center, and since Trisha was my doula, it happened! She respected the fact that I want to do all the inactive laboring on my own yet she constantly checked up on me to see how I am doing and how I am progressing. Trisha, is someone that I can trust my life and my baby’s life with because she is knowledgeable, caring and dependable. I remember her rushing to the birth center to be there for me when my husband called her that I was already at 10cm and pushing. She was there for me right on time to push Elijah in this world. She stayed with me until I was stable and checked up on me hours, days and even weeks later. Trisha was also my doula through texting and phone calls; she is always available to me. I remember texting her a few days ago (7 weeks post-partum) coz’ I was scared of having a mastitis and she never fails to give me her advice. Trisha also made sure I that my placenta gets encapsulated as my request. Since I live all the way in LA, she had it shipped out to me the same day it was finished! She went out of her way for me because she knows how much it means to me. I am so thankful and blessed to have her in my life. I can’t express it enough how much Trisha means to me and my family. She is the BEST doula in town!
After Reading a "Daddy" book I knew right away that I needed a Doula. I mean if labor was going to be 10+ hours how was i supposed to take a break and grab a cup of coffee or be on my "A" game when my wife really needed me?? There is one thing to read and understand labor but can you really every understand a woman? Only a woman can right.
We took a child birth class with Trisha. Within ten minutes of the class I fugured out she was a doula and she was the one that was going to assist us with delivering our baby boy. We booked her the first night we met. I wanted to lock her in. It was her knowledge and sense of humor that won us over. I needed someone to break the ice and turn this very serious experience into something that we would enjoy and cherish forever.
Game Day: My wife's water broke watching a chick flick...lol the perfect escape. I called Trisha right away. It was like she was walking us through a recipe on making waffles. She knew exactly what to say and put us at ease. My wife was adamant that she did not want an epidural. it was Saturday night and the contractions were too far apart that this little boy was going to be popping out into the world any time soon. Minutes seemed like hours, hours seemed like days. Each contraction was as painful as a punch below a man's belt. (Imagine one every five minutes...just when you recover another one comes on)
Trisha helped with her breathing, gave her some Gummy bear vitamin juice, got her into these positions that reduced the pain and encouraged her breathing. Even the doctors had never seen these positions and gazed in amazement.
Trisha empowered her, encouraged her and made it happen WITHOUT an epidural.
If you are looking for a pleasurable birth experience Trisha is your Doula!
Trisha has been attending my class at 24 Hour Fitness for some time now and when she found out I was expecting my first child she offered her services. We took on her offer and went over the birth plan and even though we were expecting to deliver at Kaiser we were planning for a 100% natural birth (the kind that people usually only get in a birth center). She was very helpful to suggest things to me that would help along the way though the pregnancy and met with us a couple of times to talk about any questions we had. She even recommended a wonderful Chiropractor that helped to get my body ready for labor, we even successfully got baby in the right position so as to prevent back labor.
The Big day came and even though my husband and I had taken many classes to help educate us on the events to expect Trisha offered pressure techniques that really helped when labor began to intensify. She was quick to encourage things we could do to help get through the contractions. We headed to the hospital and she helped my husband to help me, she too offered great massages when needed. She was on top of making sure that I changed positions and doing things that would help bring the baby down as well as ease the pain. She kept up with positive encouragement and assistance with everything I needed. She was quick to help talk to the nurses with any questions that they had and gave them our birth plan. My husband and I achieved our completely natural birth. Everything went right from not having to have an IV or heplock, to keeping the cord from being cut until after it was done pulsing. We were so relieved to have our doula with us to successfully make our wishes come true. We have a very healthy happy baby girl who started nursing just 45 min after birth!
We highly recommend Trisha as a doula as she is now not only a part of the best day of our lives but is also a good friend! You would be lucky to have her!
About a year ago, I decided last minute to hire a doula since I did not have any one with me except for hubby. I definitely made the right choice when Trisha was the one I chose. Besides that she was an educator (I attended pre-natal classes with her), she was also an excellent guide to all the questions that I had. Trisha is a must-have because she was so patient with me during my entire birthing process. She knew that I wanted to give birth naturally and she stayed by my side, guiding me, massaging my back during strong contractions and helping me focus when I went astray. Although I wasn't able to give birth at a birthing center setting, I could be more happier and blessed to give birth at the Balboa hospital because I hired Trisha as my doula. Because of her confidence in me and her knowledge about the whole birthing process, I was able to give birth to my beautiful baby boy naturally. Thank you Trisha for the wondeful experience! I hope for you to be my doula again the second time around :)

My husband I had interviewed one doula prior to Trisha and had planned to interview several more but once we met her and spoke with her we both new right away that our search had ended and she was the one. Our entire experience was amazing. I am a pediatric nurse practitioner with lots of hospital experience but no prior experience with regard to child birth, labor and delivery. I wanted someone with experience! Her knowledge and experience with regard to childbirth, hospital procedures, and her ability to communicate with both us and the hospital staff were especially helpful. Trisha's calm and quiet nature was a blessing, especially when our delivery got a little complicated. It was comforting to have her by our side and both my husband and I could not thank her enough for her support, her advocacy and her special attention during our pregnancy and delivery. When we were struggling with breast feeding Trisha made several home visits, offering support, caring and reassurance that I was succeeding and that I was giving my baby everything he needed. We hired Trisha to be our doula and she ended up being a great friend too! If you are considering hiring a labor or postpartum support doula, let me recommend to you Trisha Olow. We plan to hire her again in the "near" future!
My husband and I felt a wonderful connection with Trisha as soon as we met her. After our initial meeting my husband giggled and looked at me and said "She's the one.. huh?!" We had interviewed about 8 other Doulas before meeting with Trisha and we both knew right away that she was going to help us bring our baby into this world. We both could not have gotten through the 22 hours of back labor and 4+ hours of pushing (all- naturally) without her. She is so calming, supportive and encouraging. She has the experience of having her own children, which was really important to us too. She came over at 4am after giving me advice over the phone. She helped me walk around the house and had me get into different positions to try and turn my baby. When I arrived at the hospital after about 10 hours of laboring at home I was already 5 cm. My water broke shortly after getting there and Trisha was right by my side the whole time. She kept my husband and I focused and was able to work well with the nurses, midwife and doctor. I worked incredibly hard and I am pretty positive that I would have ended up with a C-Section if I didn't have my husband and Trisha coaching me through. The nurses went to get the doctor to prep me for one, but while she was gone they were able to get me to push my little boy far enough for the Dr. to catch him naturally. It was an incredibly tough labor with him coming out "sunny-side up", but I got through it because of the support and encouragement of Trisha and my husband. I am SO glad that I had Trisha there! Thank you! Thank you! I would recommend her to anyone!
It was such a blessing to have Trisha as my Doula for the birth of my baby. She helped to calm and relax me, encouraging me through out the whole experience. She was there for me helping to count contractions in the wee hours of the morning and there for me at the hospital that afternoon rubbing my back or forehead with essential oils; giving me ice-chips, counting,.. encouraging me with my birth wishes throughout the night and into the wee hours of the next day! Thank you Trisha for all your peace and support! :)

I absolutely recommend Trisha! She is incredible! Her experience speaks for itself & we instantly felt that she was someone we could fully trust to help us through the delivery of our first baby. On each of our at-home visits with Trisha she educated us, gave us an opportunity to ask questions, and helped us feel very comfortable with our birth plan. She also gave me a refreshing peppermint foot bath & foot massage - pure heaven when you're 38 weeks pregnant! I called her quite a few times - as I was a very nervous first time mom - and she took all my questions and concerns very seriously and was always able to put my mind at ease. Each interaction we had with her before our birth - completely affirmed that Trisha was the best choice for us!
Unfortunately, our birth did not go according to plan, and thank God we had Trisha - we just would not have made it through our 49 hour labor without her! We were exhausted, frustrated, and disappointed...and were just so thankful that she was there to give us emotional support and be the calm in the storm that we very much needed. She was able to guide us & give us clear information to help us understand what was going on so that we could make the best decisions for our baby. And I'm so pleased to report that we have a very happy, healthy baby boy!
I also want to recommend taking advantage of Trisha's ability to make placenta capsules. I really believe they helped me through my recovery and gave me the energy I needed to take care of my new little miracle! My husband almost stole a few for himself because he couldn't believe I was feeling so good! :)
Trisha is a genuine, compassionate, well-educated, fabulous woman and we feel so blessed that she was by our side through-out the most miraculous experience of our lives!
