I had the pleasure of having Cynthia as my doula this past month and hiring her is one of the best decisions I've ever made. The blend of knowledge, expertise and warmth that Cynthia has made all the difference, both prior to and certainly during the birth process.
Before working with Cynthia, I hadn't known much about doulas--what they did or why they might be important--but I realized quickly during the process that a good doula can truly make a substantial difference. My labor and delivery was long and the fact that Cynthia spent a great deal of time with me in the hospital speaks volumes about her commitment...In fact, my partner and I have spoken to friends and family about the commitment and passion that both Cynthia (and Maria) bring to their vocation and how very fortunate we feel to have worked with them.
If you're considering working with a doula, I can't recommend this doula team highly enough.

Cynthia Mesh was a birth doula for our first baby. When the labor started I needed all the support I could get. Even though my husband was there for me, we both needed a guide to take us through this fascinating process. I must say that Cynthia was truly a great guide. She arrived at the hospital together with us, and even though the doctors said it might take a while, she stayed with us, and supported both of us through the labor and delivery, which started much sooner than everyone expected. After the delivery she spent with us another two hours to make sure that we were able to continue on our own. She also visited us couple of weeks later to make sure everything was going well. If we decided to hire a doula for our next baby, we would definitely choose Cynthia again! Thank you, Cynthia, for being there for us!
I cannot be more grateful for Cynthia being part of my birth experience. I had moved to Boston at 6 months pregnant, terrified of what the actual birth would be like. Cynthia gave me tools to use during labor and gave me comfort that I desperately needed in the moment. In our meetings before birth, she prepped me on what birth would be like and gave me coping strategies to deal with all aspects. Her warmth and knowledge shine through everything she does. It meant so much to me that she was able to honor my father who passed away during the process as well. She was my pillar of strength when I felt weak and the gentle hand when I was in pain. After Ronan was born, she gave us the story of my birth which I am so grateful to have because I honestly didn't remember everything! I feel very blessed to have had Cynthia at our birth and to still have her in our lives. I don't think I can do our experience with Cynthia justice in the review. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to ask any questions!
I highly recommend Cynthia Mesh as a doula. Cynthia is very professional, supportive, caring, and knowledgeable. I felt she was an ideal person to accompany my labor and birth because she listened to my preferences and fears prior to labor and then helped my husband and I realize those preferences during labor and delivery. She was very supportive both prior to labor, then as soon as my water broke, and all through labor. Cynthia is very flexible depending on the situation and one’s needs/desires, but also brings a wealth of knowledge, advice and support with her. My husband speaks very highly of Cynthia as well and was thankful to have her with us. We had a fairly long labor (16 hours), and a very active labor (back labor). Having Cynthia with us throughout made a big difference for both of us. I think the labor nurse appreciated it too. My husband was able to take a break when needed, but more importantly he had someone there who was also helping/supporting him and me during this very intense, unforgettable experience. If I had to do it again, I would definitely hire Cynthia. Anyone who wants to have a natural, un-medicated birth should consider a doula, and Cynthia is an excellent choice. In the end, my labor and delivery was exactly how I had hoped (though much more painful than I expected!), and I am not sure I would have been able to do it as I did, without Cynthia and my husband helping so much. I did not take any meds, and I believe many other women can do this too with the right support. I am happy met a few times before going into labor-- these visits were helpful in planning for the delivery and making sure we were on the same page. Post-partem Cynthia also captured our birth experience in a beautiful "Birth Story" which was so touching. All in all, I believe that Cynthia has the kind of caring, support and knowledge to enable women through their labor in the way that they most desire.

Cynthia was present for my labor and also came to our home for several hours of post-partum support. We felt very fortunate that Cynthia was a part of our journey into parenthood. As first-time parents who were feeling somewhat frightened and overwhelmed, we were reassured by the steps Cythia took to help put us at ease. Cynthia is skilled at being both a coach and a friend. She is a good listener and incredibly supportive.
