Sara was my birth doula when I had my son in 2004. She helped me through the labor and delivery and was an AMAZING support person. I had a natural VBAC delivery and I'm sure I would not have been able to do so without her support. I stayed in touch with Sara throughout the day while I was having early labor. When I called her later that evening she knew it was time for her to come over. She stayed with my husband and I while a labored at home as long as possible. She made sure that I was as comfortable as I could be and made suggestions as needed to work through the labor. When it was time to head to the hospital she was right there with us. She stayed by my side, along with my husband, offering encouragement and talking with the nurses to help make sure my wishes for a natural delivery were understood. It was so helpful for me to have a woman who knew what I was going through there to encourage me and remind me that "I could do it"!
