Christi Mooney Doula Profile

Chrisi was amazing from start to finish. Well prior to and up to my due date, she answered  any and every question I had. When my labor appeared to start early, she came out to help me manage my contractions and attempt to make them more productive. Christi also provided good emotional support for me. When my labor did not progress on its own and an induction was scheduled, Christi was there from start to finish. She taught my husband techniques to help me manage the pain, and she was there right along with him, helping me get through it. I honestly cannot imagine my labor without her; and there is no way I would have managed a pitocin-induced, pain drug-free labor without her there. Christi was such fabulous support duing my delivery that even my midwife was bragging about her the next day.

Thank you so much for attending the birth of Claire. Darcy and I know that without a doubt we wouldn't have made it through that experience without your help and expertise. When faced with making the decision to begin a pitocin induction or wait it out, you helped by gathering facts about the risks of each. When we decided induction was best, you were supportive and helped us feel good about our decision. Then when things started getting more intense, you helped give Darcy ways to help me which he would not have come up with on his own and gave me labour position suggestions as well as massaging my back and talking me through them. It really was a team effort. And when I needed it the most and wanted to give up you kept me going. Apparently I listened to you better than I did my own husband.
Having a doula was by far the BEST decision we could have made and we both agree you couldn't have done a better job.

I must have called Christi weekly during my pregnancy with twins!  She was always supporitve of the choices I made during this pregnancy and there when I needed her (including some preterm labor scares and false starts). During the birth, Christi was there from start to finish and was never distant nor over bearing. I can honestly say I don't think I would have been able to have this wondeful birth, natural, breech and vertex birth without her. She reminded me to stay relaxed, to listen to my body, and provided some much needed hip squeezes when I thought I couldn't take it anymore! I would suggest to everyone to hire a doula and especially that they will find a fantastic doula with Christi.

Always informed, always willing to help. Even when she is handed something new, Christi is researching and finding the answers. Christi and I have never met in person but she's been my sounding ground and keeper of answers when I needed her. Thanks to her support and guidance I have made it through some of the toughest times with a newborn that I'm not sure I could have done sanely without her. Thank you Christi.

Through the later stages of my first pregnancy, 2 years with a toddler, a year of trying to conceive, and the first 8 weeks of my second pregnancy Christi has always been there for me with support, sound advice, and calm leadership. She is my "google." I'm not fortunate enough to live in her vicininty, but that's the miracle of technology. Through IM, facebook and email she is always RIGHT THERE with me. She's a doula, a friend, and a mom all rolled into one, and she switches through the roles with ease and confidence. Christi is definitely someone you want in your corner when it comes to pregnancy (and trying to get there), labor, and parenthood. She's invaluable to me.
