Relevant volunteer or advocacy work: I am a volunteer in Operation Special Delivery, which provides trained volunteer doulas for pregnant women whose husbands or partners have been severely injured or who have lost their lives due to the current war on terror, or who will be deployed, or otherwise unable to attend the birth due to military reasons.

Postpartum limits/restrictions: I do not/ will not support formula-feeding (unless truly medically necessary), smoking of tobacco cigarettes, or crying it out/ "sleep training" as they are unhealthy and unsafe to the child, and in most cases the mother as well.

As long as the hospital permits doulas. I support births at home which are attended by a midwife as well as births at home which are unassisted (though clients will need to be educated on all risks and emergency measures in addition to the process of birth). Fee details: I offer a variety of services so clients can decide what is right for them - more than is listed on this page and I provide referrals to community resources as needed. I believe every woman who wants a doula should have one & money should not be an obstacle to having a doula, birthing naturally, breastfeeding or providing proper communication for elimination, so I offer a sliding scale & payment plan on a case by case basis, support barter/ trade for payment in full or in part & work with insurances for reimbursement. With that said a deposit is due when a client signs up, and for birth services the remainder is due by the 36th week of pregnancy.
