I decided with my third child that I would like to have an all natural birth. I talked with Ryanne Kees about my desire for a natural birth and she was so encouraging, and confident in my ability to have the birth that I wanted. That was exactly what I needed to hear, I decided right away that I wanted her there with me for the birth. Well, I started having contractions about a week or two before the birth, the contractions got more intense every day but especially at night! One night I didn't think I could go on much longer with a lot of pain and very little sleep. I called Ryanne several times that night and she gave me some tips on how to ease the pain and was very encouraging to me. Finally though, when the contractions didn't stop and got to be about six minutes apart Ryanne agreed that it would be a good time for us to head to the hospital. We got to the hospital and found out that I was eight cemtimeters dialated! The birth went pretty quick after that, and after about two hours my brand new baby girl was born! It was so wonderful to have Ryanne there, she was such a calming presence, it was by far my best birth experience! I know eventually when we have another baby I'll be asking Ryanne to be my doula gain, I'm so thankful to have had her with me for the birth!
