Robin Baker, DONA birth Doula Doula Profile

 We liked Robin right from the start.  In our initial interview, we talked like we were old friends.  Robin was a continual support through out my pregnancy, when I was experiencing complications from a gallbladder situation.  I had a 40 hour labor, and Robin was amazing through out the entire thing.  Robin provided quiet support when I needed it but she encouraged me and spoke firmly when I was losing motivation. Robin used all her resources to aid us in making choices throughout my birth.  She worked well with the nurses, midwifes and my family.  Robin helped me to cope with a lot of my birth plan not working out.  We loved that Robin shared our faith and used that to comfort us during our labor.  I would absolutely hire Robin for my next pregnancy and birth.   

Robin was a great doula! She went above and beyond supposrting my husband and I. She is a fun person and is knowledgable and passionate about birth. I hired Robin when I was 5 months pregnant. Through out my pregnancy Robin supported me through phone, emails, and in person.Sharing information that she would give to her Bradley students. My labor was very long 3 days. She was their to answer our questions and supported us in the decisions we made. I can't imagine giving birith with out Robin as my doula. I totally recommend Robin as a doula. I am very happy I had her to support me through my pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum.

As soon as I found out I was pregnant, I knew I wanted a natural birth and I knew that I wanted to find the right doula to be by our side through the process.  My husband and I decided to hire Robin right after meeting her.  She was a huge blessing to us throughout my pregnancy.  She was always available for a text or e-mail with questions about anything from writing my birth plan to dental treatment while pregnant.  Robin really took the time to get to know us during our prenatal visits and made us feel comfortale and confident in having her be a part of our daughter's birth.  In the weeks leading up to the birth, she was a valuable source of knowledge and encouragement.  I ended up going into labor while Robin was out of town, but she had made arrangements with her back-up doula Rosie just in case and everything went incredibly smoothly in the transition from one doula to another.  Robin had made sure that Rosie had all the important information she neded, and I felt so comfortable with Rosie even though the first time I met her was when I was in labor!  Throughout the labor, Robin stayed in touch with Rosie and was still a part of the whole experience even from afar.  She has continued to provide postpartum support and is still available for any questions I may have as a first-time mom.  Her knowledge about breastfeeding issues and all the wisdom that comes from being a mother herself has been so valuable.  Robin is an incredible blessing to us and hiring her was one of the best decisions I made in my pregnancy.  Even though I personally can't speak to the services she brings during the actual labor and delivery, from what I have seen of Robin I absolutely know that she is an encouraging, kind, and caring doula.  She is the type of doula that any woman will be blessed to have by her side during labor and I highly recommend her.  Robin is the best of the best!

I hired Robin to help me have the natural VBAC of my dreams. She helped me to find the information I needed to feel confident in my decision and in my ability. She stayed in contact with me throughout my pregnancy and offered me timely advice and support. She was friendly, helpful and encouraging. She helped me to make informed decisions and to remain true to my wishes. She worked well with the nurses and hospital staff. She went above and beyond to do the little things to help me be comfortable before, during and after my labor and delivery.

I had the privilege of hiring Robin as a doula and a birth photograher.  I only wish I had her for my first two boys!  The pictures are incredible and my experience with her as the doula during my natural birth was invaluable.  I feel so lucky to have found her!  If anyone is questioning whether or not to have a doula and/or birth photographer, look no further.  I could NOT imagine a better person for the job.  You will certainly not be disappointed!!  Robin was prepared, knowledgable, diligent and thorough... thoughtful the whole way through.  You name it she thought of it all.. everything from getting my music for the delivery room together, using essential oils, bringing me a boppy pillow to taking all the notes throughout my labor.  Most importantly she comes with crucial personal experience. No one in my delivery room had known what it was like to go through natural childbirth except her.  She reassured me at every critical turn in the process and knew what I needed to hear.  I can't express how important it was to have someone who had gone through it all to be there by our sides.  Not only for the emotional support but for the confidence she brought to what I was going through... That for me was incredibly important.  We will forever be grateful for her services and cherish the priceless pictures. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Love the Prado's

Robin is an exceptional doula, photographer, and friend.  She encouraged me throughout my  pregnancy and labor, helped me feel comfortable and safe in a hospital setting, and gave me confidence in myself.  I'm extremely grateful for Robin and her knowledge and experience with childbirth.  Robin is a compassionate person.  Having Robin as my doula was a blessing.
