Post a testimonial for Zina Brockman

I just gave birth to my 1st child in December of 2021, and being nervous about my 1st birth experience I opted to hire Zina as my doula. I am so so glad I did! Pregnancy/birth is such in intense personal experience, but from the start of our zoom calls, I felt comfortable with Zina right away. Via these initial zoom calls Zina helped ease my anxiety pre birth with multiple check ins. I really valued her extensive knowledge and experience with both hospital and home births. She was such an amazing coach throughout the birth. I had to be medically induced so my constractions were fierce. Zina helped coach me through some intense constraction pain AND pushing pain, and was a calming presence throughout. Post birth Zina has checked in a few times and offered great suggestions on tea to help with breastfeeding, messages that helped reduce swelling in my feet etc. It's nice to have that touch point and to feel taken care of! She really helped make my whole 1st birth experience a positive one.

Zina is an amazing doula. Her expertise on the body and positioning during pre-labor and the labor itself helped us make it through. We are incredibly thankful to have had Zina on our birthing team. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking a talented, calm, and wise doula.

As a doula Zina was everything my husband and I didn't know we needed with the birth of our first child. I was determined to be well supported in this journey as a first time pregnant woman and mom and Zina had all the recommendations and references my heart desired. When I needed a probiotic she was there, when I wanted some more books to read, when I was looking for a childbirth educator and when I just had a million questions that needed answers Zina was there.
And when I went into labor I was in denial. Could this really be it? And Zina was the first person I called. She gave my husband instructions on how to support me while she traveled to our home and when she arrived she had a bag of tricks to help me move through some intense back labor. All the while helping my husband pack the hospital bag I never got to packing because I thought I had more time.
Once we arrived at the hospital despite having doctors, nurses and even our parents and friends with us- Zina never once stepped back from her role in supporting me. She explained everything that was happening as it happened and created space for my husband and I to advocate for ourselves and our son during the birthing process. Postpartum she answered every question that was on my list and there were many. With this being so new and having so many opinions from moms and in laws it was a bit hard for me to connect with my mom-self. But Zina was such an encouraging coach in that way. She taught me baby massage and even organized a postpartum walk in prospect park where she simply listened to all I was going through as a postpartum Mama. It was such a gift and I am forever indebted for her service to me and our family.
Zina was such a blessing and I hope she can be one to your family too.

Zina is an amazing doula. She provided tremendous support throughout my first pregnancy and during labor. My husband and I both agreed that we couldn't have done it without her. Our midwife later told me that she was one of the best doulas she had worked with. Zina has eight kids of her own, so she's really a pro at everything. Now that I'm pregnant with my second, she's helping me think through how to prepare my first child and marriage for the arrival of a new human. I'm really looking forward to working with her for a second time.

Zina was our post-partum doula after a very difficult and complicated birth. Without a huge apartment to host family, I really needed her sage wisdom and confidence that I could handle those blurry, disorienting early days on having our son home. She was always kind and supportive as I needed help burping, dressing a baby for 30 degree weather, someone to hold the baby while I showered, and understanding my new post-partum body, taking a walk, and understanding the new creature in our lives. I highly recommend her. She was a calming, generous, and very positive presence for me during a very difficult time.

From our 1st interaction I knew I wanted to work with Zina. There was something about her energy and I was really able to understand how amazing it was once I went into labor. She is so knowledgeable and gave me so much information and tips during my pregnancy. I honestly don't think my labor would have been as successful if not for her. She spoke to my spirit and was 100% honest with me. Speaking to me as the mother figure she is. I'm so glad I found her and she will now be a continuing part of my life. Thank you Zina???
