Client Testimonials for Jennifer Fredette
Rita Rieffenberger
We met Jennifer at a birthing class. I was already 32 weeks along, but we hadn't found a doula yet. We wanted someone we felt comfortable sharing this life changing experience with. Jen was a perfect fit.
She had already had two home births and another on the way. Which gave her the credentials we were looking for. She was passionate about natural birthing and had a lot of information and books to share. While Jen was organized and reliable, she was also easy going - the quality that matter most to us. We are fairly relaxed and laid back people, and we wanted the same out of our doula. It was great having someone who assured me I could call her day or night with any questions.
During labor Jen (who by the way was 7 months pregnant) help sooth me by stroking my back, arms, and legs. The whole feeling in the room was calm and tranquil. Jen spoke soft reassuring words and reminded to relax my body and face and keep breathing, which helped me enter a mediative state. Through each contraction the gentle, supportive touch help keep me centered.
After 6 hours of being dilated at 9 cm, we had to go to the hospital to be put on pitocin. This was not our ideal situation, but Jen helped us make the most of it. An hour later the doctor told me I needed a c-section. At this point my fiance (upset about the idea of c-section) and the doctor got into a fight. Jen calmed down my finace. She told him he needed to stay strong for me and help defuse the situation.
Jen continued to check in the next few weeks. She was a great a doula. She kept calm and kept me calm through our chaotic birth. We appreciate everything Jen did for us and highly recommend her to anyone.
