If you are searching around for doulas and don’t know which one to pick you can stop right now. Crys exceeded our wildest dreams of what we could possibly expect out of a doula. She’s incredibly compassionate, caring, and immensely knowledgeable. After speaking with her you’ll know, being a doula is not a job to her, it’s her passion in life.
My wife’s labor was a bit difficult and tiring, but Crys never faltered. She was calm and patient, always explaining things in a thorough manner, helping us to make the best decisions we could. She worked in conjunction with the doctor and nurses, never overstepping her bounds (the last thing you want in the room is any conflict). We didn’t quite get the exact birth we wanted (supposedly you never do, something always comes up), but would have come nowhere near what we wanted without her. Truthfully, I was ready to throw in the towel; it’s tough to see your wife in pain. Crys brought me back to reason and said we should give it some more time. We did and had the natural birth we wanted.
Being first time parents, my wife and I had a ton of questions even weeks after the birth. Cry was always there via text or phone call and was extremely helpful answering everything we threw at her. There was a time when she didn’t quite know the answer to something and was honest about it. She simply got in touch with some people in her network of professionals and got back to us.
I have a feeling we’ll be sending her pictures of baby Miles as he grows up. She wasn’t just there for his birth, it’s more than that, she was part of the birth. We feel we found a trusted friend for life…
I was truly blessed the day Crys came into our lives. My husband and I moved to Arizona when I was already 6 1/2 months pregnant with our first son. All I knew was that I wanted to have as natural of a birth as possible, but had no idea how to achieve that. Finding a care provider was first, which was a task all in it's own. I became friends with another doula through church who helped point me in the right direction with finding a midwife instead of an ob, and also eventually introduced me to Crys. Unfortunately we were unable to have the homebirth we wanted, but instead found an amazing midwife to deliver at the hospital. (which for me carried a ton of fears of unnecessary interventions). Crys assured us that a beautiful hospital birth wasnt just a dream but it could be a fantastic reality with the proper education an circumstances. Crys is extremely passionate about birth, and childbirth education. My husband and I sat with Crys on a weekly basis to catch up on things we really needed to know. All the while I became more educated and passionate about birth. Over the following weeks Crys made things far less scary and eased all my fears. The week of our sons birth I knew I made a life long friend. Crys was amazing. I went into prodromal labor causing me an my husband to become very tired and frustrated. If it wasn't for Crys we probably would have gone to the hospital early and would have ended up with unnecessary interventions, and would have had a completely different experience. She assured is we were doing great and when it came time we were truly in labor she saw it and let us know we were close to meeting our son! 25 hours of labor, and an amazing doula there the whole time cheering me on, giving us comfort, and the confidence I needed to have the most beautiful birth! Our son was born in the most perfect situation and I owe it to Crys for her strength and passion. She will always have a special place in our hearts and is a part of our family now.
There are no words to describe the support and peace of mind Crys gave me during my pregnancy, during labor and delivery and during my postpartum recovery. My husband and I are miles away from family and discussed hiring a doula for the birth of our first child. We met with Crys and felt a connection immediately. There was no need to interview anyone else. From the beginning she treated us like family. She made several visits to our home where she helped us develop a birth plan, educated us on breastfeeding, labor and delivery options and newborn care.
Once my labor began she was just a phone call away and was genuinely concerned about my progress. While at the hospital Crys was the voice of reason, calm, and reassurance. She provided both me and my husband with support and comfort. For me, hearing her whisper in my ear "you can do this, your body was made for this" during times when I thought I couldn't go on helped me push through. She helped us to realize our wishes that were stated in our birth plan. During transition Crys was right there with my husband helping me push our little Lyla out into the world. She was one of the first people to lay eyes on our daughter, and because of that she will always have a special place in our hearts and lives. Thank you doesn't seem to be enough, we are eternally grateful for her and the work that she does as a doula.
I wasnt sure what to expect with a doula, I was concerned that this would be a person that could get between my wife and I. After meeting Crys I knew we wanted to have a Doula to help us through the birth of our first child. She was extremely helpful through the whole process. During the pregnancy the information she provided me with was awesome to help me understand what to expect and what my wife was going through. She helped us look at all of the different asepects of both the pregnancy and then what to expect during the birth. Our birth didn't go exactly as we planned, but Crys was there the whole time informing us of our options, supporting us through all of the decisions and ensuring that our wishes were followed. It was great to have someone who was there for whatever we needed both during the birth and afterwards. I couldn't imagine what it would have been like without her there. Thanks Crys!!!!
As a first time father with family on the east coast, I was concerned about being the only support system for my wife during her pregnancy to labor and delivery. We educated ourselves on the entire process but there was still that support gap. A friend recommended the assistance of a Doula. We never heard of a Doula before and began to research. We asked our OBGYN and Crys was recommended. Crys was so knowledgeable and addressed our concerns right away. She skillfully planned out for us “what to expect”; Not only from herself but the pregnancy, labor delivery and breast feeding. She empowered us to make our birth plan and own decisions with reassurance and respect. She made several visits to our home and followed up on every commitment. Crys provided interactive ways to address issues both my wife and I were concerned about. It helped put things in perspective where we both felt comfort and relief for the issues we were on the same page about and opened up a dialogue for those we were not. Beginning the laboring process at home for several hours we were calm because we knew she was just a call away anytime we needed her. At the hospital, she stayed with us and was extremely helpful in so many ways. She reminded us of our empowerment and helped me make decisions when I was unsure of the hospital jargon. Acted as a support to my wife and me throughout and actively helped through all of the contractions. Looking back, I can fully appreciate what she has meant to my wife and me but can never thank her enough for everything she had done for us. For anyone who is a first time parent, has many children and has family close or far, hiring a Doula is affordable and going to be one of the BEST decisions you will make for your family. I encourage you to at least interview with her, there is no charge for it and you can still get your concerns addressed.
Crystal is such an amazing person. She is both compassionate and very educated about birth. Words can't describe the love I received from her during my pregnancies, the support I received from her during labor, and she never left my side until she knew my baby had snuggled for a good feeding. I'm so thankful for her and I know I benefited from her being there for/with me while being pregnant, during labor and postpartum.
Thank you Crystal, my family loves you and we are thankful for every minute of your time. You are a blessing!

When I became pregnant, I planned to have a natural birth with a doula present for the birth. We researched natural births and doulas in the east valley. When we found Crys we knew she was the right doula for the birth. She shared personal birthing experience and her enthusiasm for becoming a doula. She understood that we would incorporate HypnoBirthing during the birthing process and was excited to assist us with this. Her passion for birthing and families is inspiring. Crys has a wealth of birthing knowledge. She met with us several times before the big day and answered all our questions from birth plans to vaccinations. She helped us with fear releasing techniques and gave us recommendations on local pregnancy and post partum resources. Without a doubt, we were prepared for our baby’s birth day. Our son’s birth was an eventful 24 hours filled with intensity and joy. Crys helped us to remain focused and continue with HypnoBirthing despite any challenges. We had a minor setback when we had a tough time turning our son. When our doctor and nurses made suggestions to aid in the process, my husband and I felt overwhelmed. As our family’s advocate, Crys was by our side assuring us that no matter how the birth will progress; we will have the perfect birth experience for us. This gave us the motivation to move forward with a revised birth plan. Crys remained by our side hours after the birth of our son Miles ensuring we ate, slept, and bonded with Miles. Crys was in constant contact with us. Miles’ birth day was a success because of Crys; she is not only an amazing birthing partner but also a true friend for life. She was present during the most important time in our lives to welcome the newest member of our family into the world. Throughout post partum, Crys was available to answer our questions and made several home visits to check up on us and spend time with Miles. We are forever grateful for our doula, Crys.
