Having Heather as my postpartum doula completely exceeded my expectations and helped me ease into life with my fourth baby. With four kids, the laundry is really daunting and Heather came every day to help me tackle the laundry, wash my dishes, prepare me healthy breakfasts and made sure I was taking my supplements! She would change my bedsheets when necessary but the best of all was when she would take my baby and rock him to sleep for me so I could get a nice long nap. It was heavenly! Seriously Heather strikes the best balance of helping you stay on top of your daily housework tasks and caring for your baby so YOU can rest, shower, pump, eat, whatever. Heather is a goldmine -- run, don't walk to get her as your postpartum doula!!

Here's the headline: if you're having a baby in Austin, hire Heather.

I'm so glad I had Heather with us for the birth of our son and again at home for postpartum support. Pretty sure the nurses at St. David's North were happy she was there as well since she jumped right in after my unplanned C-section and was excellent backup for the hospital staff, as well as for me and my partner of course.

Heather is not only a very capable doula, she's also an expert in related fields like nutrition, yoga and massage and has resources galore to share. For example, she referred me to my acupuncturist, gave me massages in the hospital toward the end of a frustrating 24 hours of labor and cooked healthy breakfasts at home in the early PP weeks. No one else, including three different lactation consultants in the hospital and our pediatrician, noticed that our baby had a significant lip tie. Heather did notice, had a look and we compared his tie to photos showing the range in severity and guessed it was a 3 or 4. She referred us to a kind and competent pediatric dentist who diagnosed the tie as a 4, the most severe, and performed a laser frenectomy the same day, which immediately improved baby's ability to latch and made nursing so much easier and less painful for me.

Couple ALL of that with her extremely fair pricing and willingness to do whatever is needed to support mom at home for postpartum care and I can't imagine hiring anyone else. She goes above and beyond in every way, has the emotional intelligence to match her considerable skillset, anticipates your needs and has answers to questions you didn't even know to ask. Even if you're being induced or having a planned c-section and thinking maybe you don't need a doula at all, I urge you to hire Heather, as I guarantee she'll add value, support you and be an invaluable resource and advocate in ways you wouldn't have anticipated.

Heather cared for our infant daughter on a few occasions and she was fantastic! She is very engaging, has good energy, and is extremely helpful. She took great care in wanting to be respectful of our routine and concerns. When our baby slept, Heather kept busy with light house keeping. She put the dishes in the dishwasher and asked if I had any laundry to fold. She was wonderful with our daughter and did lots of tummy time and read her books. Heather is caring and kind and we really enjoyed our time with her. I would highly recommend Heather!

Wow. This woman is a dynamo!

I was exhausted and disorganized at home with my newborn and my 8 year old when Heather came to the rescue. She is energetic, organized, compassionate, and a total pro.

I was able to rest and recuperate after my c-section while Heather expertly cared for my baby and entertained my older daughter. She organized all of the baby gear and baby clothes in the nursery in a flash and gave me some pro tips about using a swaddle blanket to make a baby sling and how to use some of my diaper bag's features. She also had endless patience for my rowdy daughter and came up with creative crafting and baking ideas for them to work on together.

I would recommend her to anyone who needs help!

Heather was absolutely incredible. She is so knowledgeable and provides great insight to a myriad of issues. There is so much value in what she offers her clients and she made herself available at all hours of the night if needed.

Pre-birth she offered guidance on nutrition and ways to ripen the cervix. She offered a yoga class and a facial which made me feel pampered and amazing. She helped me go through my nursery and figure out what I may still need and thoughtfully got those things for me if she happened to come across them.

During birth she provided encouragement, counter pressure/tens/aromatherapy, she set up string lights, led candels and music to help create a calming environment. She was very sensitive and aware of when my husband and I needed a moment to ourselves and jumped right in to help when he needed to step away for a bathroom or coffee break. She documented the birth experience and spoke knowledgeably with the midwife about what was going on and what I needed at any given moment. She was an absolute amazing advocate for me and my partner. She knew my birth plan and was able to communicate it clearly. She was fully present and ready to help.

Post birth she followed up and helped me with some breastfeeding issues I was having and has reached out to see how our LO is doing about once a month since then.

Heather is not only knowledgeable and passionate about what she does, she is also very kind and sincere. If I choose to have any other children in the future I will definitely have Heather by my side.

Heather was truly a godsend. She went above and beyond and all of her duties and I was very impressed with her skills as an esthetician and yoga instructor. It was very nice to have such a sweet knowledgeable doula on our side as first time parents. She had book suggestions and also was very generous with her knowledge. I don't know what we would have done without her during the labor and birth of our son. The pictures she took of his birth are amazing and we are so lucky we had her there to ask the right questions and guide us through such a high pressure situation.

Heather was amazing! She has a lot of knowledge and a very calming presence. Heather went above and beyond not only during labor but also during my pregnancy. For example, I was unable to drive during my third trimester so she offered me transportation to her home for a prenatal visit/facial and came to my home for all other visits.

During the long labor, Heather kept my partner and I comfortable and informed. Pushing took me over three hours and Heather whipped out every trick in her book to keep things progressing. I'm confident that her being there to move things along, both physically and mentally, helped me avoid an even longer pushing phase and likely other interventions.

Thank you, Heather!! <3

Heather was amazing to us on this journey to parenthood.

I wanted to have a natural birth and when I had to be transported to Seton, because of complications, Heather was right by our side the entire way. She was incredible and even spoon fed me chipped ice : )!

Heather eased all my worries and was super informative with any questions we had. She was always just a text/phone call away and even drove me to one of my last check ups.

I am so grateful I chose her to be my doula!

I am so grateful to have found Heather to help me during the post partum time for our baby. She is a very caring and thoughtful person, with invaluable knowledge in the areas that my family and I needed help the most, including breastfeeding, baby care, toddler care, health, nutrition, and her esthetician work too!

Our baby had a tongue tie revision, and was still struggling with breastfeeding at times. I was struggling with anxiety and feeling like I had inadequate time for activities and healthy cooking for our older daughter. Heather helped talk me through solutions, and she helped me build confidence in my own mom intuition and capabilities. In addition to this, Heather put our minds at ease in regards to germs in the time of Covid; she let us know how careful she is to put on clean clothes for visiting clients, she washed her hands frequently, and she wore a mask when she came over. It is hard for me to ask for help, I am a bit (or maybe a lot) particular about how things are done in our house, and Heather was so kind and understanding when I asked for help. Heather even tinted my eyebrows when she was over! I am grateful to feel a little prettier and more put together, not as nervous to get back to work soon. A lot of my closest friends live far away and by having Heather over, it felt like one of them had flown in to help us with the new baby, and to help us adjust to our new lives with him. Thank you so much Heather; you went above and beyond (she even set up a splash table for our little girl! She loves it). May God bless you and your family richly. Families with new babies are very lucky to get Heather's help.

We love working with Heather and are so thankful that she was a part of our birth team! From meeting our family, she made sure that all of our ideas were heard and supported in a safe space, including our 2 year old's.  She helped make sure I was comfortable during pregnancy, including giving me a prenatal massage at home to help with all those late pregnancy aches and pains.  She is truly adaptable to any situation!  When our labor didn't go as planned, she met us at a parking lot to help with our car baby and sort out the paramedics.  She stayed so late to make sure we had food and felt comfortable and calm after an unexpected labor.  During her postpartum visit, she played with our toddler, held and comforted our baby and cleaned the kitchen! She provides phenomal support to moms and families and looks for opportunities to offer more support in thoughtful and surprising ways. I fully recommend her Heather as a doula in any stage of pregnancy, labor, and postpartum life!

Heather is amazing, she goes above and beyond what we expected! She was super supportive before, during and after labor for both myself and my husband. I felt calm for baby’s arrival and Heather was prepared. She showed me yoga stretches, recipes and weekly exercises in my third trimester. The night of labor her heating pad and aromatherapy helped me through the contractions. She also knew all of my preferences and informed the delivery team to make it as smooth as possible. We were immensely grateful to have her be a part of our birth story, and would recommend her to everyone! Heather is super sweet and will make your baby’s arrival such a positive experience.

Heather was so wonderful to have during the birth of my son. I've told people doubtlessly that I loved my birth experience and would gladly do it all over again. It was such a positive experience thanks to Heather's guidance. I couldn't of have a better delivery team! I was especially grateful to have her when my labor began to stall. She guided my husband on how to help her with certain pressure points to assist with making my dilation progress. She was also so great with the active delivery part, working alongside the labor & delivery nurses, my OB and husband cheering me on!

We found Heather pretty late in the game (and during COVID no less, haha). She jumped right in to help me and my husband fine tune the last stretch. Heather was so eager to help and offer information. She even lent me her own copy of a book (I wish I could remember the name, lol) AND a yoga ball so that I could do stretches and small exercises leading up to the birth. She delivered said items to my home and showed me how to do the stretches and had even marked some "must read" chapters for us. This was my first pregnancy and having her with us helped ease some nerves for sure. My husband flat out said that he doesnt think he could have gotten through it without her. He said that he looked at Heather and she quietly (stealthily) cued him in on how to help me get through a contraction... Which to me let him take credit for it in the moment, which I think was comforting for us both.

Heather is a fantastic doula and a kind and sweet person.  ?

I do not know of a more caring and supportive person than Heather. Having her there with us for the birth of our son was a tremendous help to us and I don't know that I could've done it without her. Being soon-to-be new parents, we had no idea what we were in for and she helped us every step of the way. We met ahead of time to go over materials she recommended we read and she helped us come up with our birth plan, which usually never goes exactly according to plan and ours was no exception. It was extremely helpful to go over various options and scenarios with her ahead of time so we were better informed when our plan deviated. She also helped us come up with questions I needed to ask my doctor that we would have never considered on our own. My labor was long and difficult and she stayed the entire time because she knew we would need her. When my little one finally made his debut, she played a song that I had mentioned to her in passing was sentimental to me and it made the moment that much more special - that's just one small example of how thoughtful she is and how much she cares for the people she works with. She will go above and beyond any time she is needed and she will make sure your voice is heard when there is complete chaos in the delivery room. I highly recommend Heather to anyone in need of someone in their corner during this monumental occasion.
