Client Testimonials for Natalie Watson

I met Natalie Watson at one of the local baby stores, and I immediately thought it would be cool to have a doula for the birth of our first child. I brought information home to share with my husband, but he was a little skeptical at first. However, every single time we met with Natalie, he was more assured how great it was that we had Natalie. We met with Natalie a couple times prior to labor, and she provided us with articles and DVDs. She promptly answered any questions or concerns we had. We had information to make the informed decisions for our unborn child at that time such as pros and cons of repeated ultrasound, B strep testing etc. Needless to say, we were very grateful to have Natalie during the labor which was, unlike my pregnancy, a very long and difficult one. Of course, I can’t remember all details, but I do remember that Natalie was with us for 20 + hours. She came to our house first and helped me through contractions. She was by my side at the hospital at all times providing emotional, physical, and informational support. Nathalie also made sure that my husband was emotionally well. I believe that if we didn’t have Natalie (and the doula Rachel Freeseman) that I would probably end up with a cesarean delivery. Additionally, Natalie is not a hard core doula. She believes that there is a place and time for everything including epidural that I ended up getting after 30 or so hours of repeated contractions with the labor not near in sight. Despite a long and difficult labor, we were able to make the informed decisions and have a beautiful birth in the end. Most importantly, we enjoyed meeting Natalie, and by having the doula we saved money and time and had a birth experience that money can not buy.

I was having some complications late in my first pregnancy, and the midwives I was seeing no longer could care for the pregnancy and I had to move to an OB group. The midwives suggested that we find a doula so that I might reach my goal of a natural birth. The OB group required an induction and we found Natalie the day before I was induced. The very first time Josh and I met Natalie was at the hospital. I was just getting ready to be induced. Natalie was so awesome and said to call any time during the night if we needed anything. My contractions started getting heavier around 4am, so Josh called her. Natalie arrived just after the doctor broke my water and was with us every step of the labor. Her words of encouragement were a tremendous support - helping me stay motivated for the next contraction. She applied counter pressure during contractions that were beyond helpful. She helped coach Josh on things that would help me and helped us identify the progression of my labor. She was constantly keeping me hydrated and nourished, and acted as an advocate on our behalf when working with the nurses and hospital staff. Also as a Christian doula, Natalie prayed with us and whole-heartedly supported and acknowledged God's miracle and presence in our labor, delivery, and birth. Natalie helped us achieve our goal of a natural birth with a faith-filled, supportive, encouraging and loving attitude. We will forever be grateful! She also visited at home us following our baby's birth offering tips and more advice! Working with Natalie was an incredible experience and we'll be asking for her help with our next labor!

I had nothing but a positive experience with Natalie. She is very nurturing and supported me in all of the decisions my husband and I made concerning the birth of our son. It was very nice to have Natalie to help with my immediate needs after my delivery. She has a soothing and calming demeanor that is exactly what a mother needs after delivering. I would highly recommend Natalie to anyone looking for a doula that cares about you and your personal birth experience.
