Client Testimonials for Candice Marples

My husband and I are living in Vancouver but all of our family is in Ontario. When we decided to have a baby we knew that we wanted an extra set of hands to provide the support we would need both in the delivery room and the days that followed. We interviewed Candice and knew she was the person we wanted to journey with us during this amazing experience (she was actually the only person that we met as we knew from the moment we met her that she was a good fit for us). She's professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and an amazing advocate for what you want the birth to encompass. My husband claims that we hired Candice more for him than for myself as she was the one who took care of he and I during a very long labour. I could never have done it without Candice. She stayed with me for 24 out of the 45 hours I was in labour and because of her my husband was able to get some sleep and eat while having the reassurance that I was being taken care of. Candice provided the massages, encouragement, and support I needed to have my labour medication free and ensured that my son latched well and that nursing was well established. She came to visit us during the hospital and at home (which was more than we had expected). My husband and I could sing Candice's praises all day long because she is an extremely gifted and passionate woman who truly loves what she does. We would definitely recommend her to anyone looking to hire a doula.

When I think back to my labor I actually get somewhat nostalgic as it was such a positive experience. Painful, challenging, long, but empowering. I think of all the people that helped along the path to the birth of our bebe girl, and Candice was such an integral part. Without her unconditional support both mentally and physically our journey would not have felt as safe and memorable as it does. We would highly recommend Candice to all our friends and hope to keep in touch with her as our new family grows through the years.

We used Candice for the birth of our first and only baby 3 months ago. My husband and I found Candice very warm and calming. We wanted to have an extra set of hands in the delivery room and it turns out we needed them. Candice is wonderful at massage. She was attentive and sweet to both myself and my husband. (Sometimes husbands are neglected through out pregnancy/labour as they aren't technically the patient.)
Candice was very honest about issues or possible scenarios that can arise in labour. Thank God she was, because I ended up not having the most ideal labour, but was very informed and ready to make decisions as scenarios arose.
I especially appreciated that she was not judgmental about epidurals or breastfeeding, as some women in the Doula/midwife community are quite opinionated.
I would strongly recommend using Candice's services to any of my friends who are about to give birth. It's unfortunate that Doula services aren't covered by medical plans, as they are necessary people to have with you through out labour and postpartum.
