I found Trina through the Operation Special Delivery program. Trina responded to my request for a volunteer doula right away, and she gave me a lot of information on how to prepare myself for labor. We went through the list of things I need to take to the hospital, tips for exercises, dietary suggestions and a few others things before I go to labor.
My baby was looking small during my last ultrasound check and my OB suggested that the baby get induced to avoid any potential growth restriction. On the day I had the induction, Trina couched me on different positions and activities to speed up the dilation and used aroma therapy and foot massage to help ease my contraction pains.
After I started to push, I tried different positions for about 3 hours and was really exhausted. While she was holding my head and leg, Trina also kept telling me that I was doing good job and that making good progress. By the fifth hour, the baby came out and all of a sudden the world changed for me. I was crying and laughing. Trina cut my son's umbilical cord, she stayed with us for about 2 more hours until she made sure that everything was taken care of. She even had a vedio call with my husband so that he could see him first hand while he was waiting for his flight to go back home in Kuwait.
Trina came back for another visit about one week after the baby's birth. She shared the pictures taken during my stay in the hospital and my birth story with us. We had a great time sharing stories, laughters and the joy of a new life in the family. Every once in a while I'll call Trina for suggestions on how to take care of the baby. She's always there to listen and help. I have to share my birth story so that people know the great things Trina has done for others in need.

WOW..So what can i say? Trina was amazing She was going to be my doula at Fort Lewis, her and i had talked and worked out a deal. Then low and behold my husband got orders:( I was devestated. Im a quiet person when dealing with people i dont know and i was completely bummed she wasnt going to be there to ensure my brith went the way that i wanted.
I was WRONG. She asked me what i wanted and typed up a birthplan for a Vaginal Delivery and a C-Section because at the time they thought my son was going to be to big to deliver naturally. She took into account EVERYTHING that i wanted and it was VERY detailed and 100 percent customized to what I wanted. I wa able to hand it to my Dr here at our new duty station and everything went smooth.
The only thing that could have been better was if she had personally been there to help me with my delivery. But that of course was due to no fault of her own : ) Thank you so much Trina For doing all that you could to still ensure my delivery went MY way :)

Trina helped me to have the exceptional birth experience I was looking for, despite problems that occured along the way for our family due to our awful experiences with our doctor. She helped us to find a new hospital to go through when I was 39 weeks along and my old hospital decided they would no longer allow me to try for natural labor or being induced. They would only allow for c section since they were convinced my son would be too big. Trina provided so much education to us throughout my pregnancy that we were able to have a smooth delivery that went extremely fast. I was able to have the natural child birth that I had desired with my previous delivery. He was born at 9 lbs 9 oz and delivered within minutes with zero issues what so ever. The education she provided helped us to decide which medical interventions we did and did not want, establish successful breastfeeding, and have a happy newborn period. Even now at four months postpartum, she is still a great friend and is thankfully still involved with our family. The most important thing to me about the whole process was her level of care and how she never once made me feel like a crazy lady :) She always made me feel understood, accepted, helped, and loved. Trina will always have a place in our hearts and we will absolutely recommend to others, both her invaluable services and the importance of having a doula during your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

I had the best experience with Trina Baggett as our doula. I really enjoyed the one on one time we got with her prior to our delivery. We understood that she was there for us and that no matter what she would support us and make sure that we got what we wanted! Trina made a connection with us before, during, and after the birth of our son. SHe isn't just some doula that we hired, she is also a friend. Somebody who will check up on you even after her time you paid her for. She knows what new parents are in need of and she is there to help. I know with my next child I will be there again looking to Trina to be our doula and I would recomend her to anybody who is trying to find a doula for their pregnancy and birth.

Trina was my first Doula and she helped me with my third baby. She did a fantastic job. I would totally recommend her and would hire her again for my next baby in a heartbeat. She is extremely knowlegeable, kind, warm, and supportive. She has a soft helpful nature and is not overbearing in the delivery room. Trina is the perfect doula, in my opinion.

Trina is Awesome.
I was so worried and stressed about this birth. It was my third go around, but my husbands first encounter with labor (he's always been away). I'm so glad Trina was able to come and help us through this! Her knowledge of stress relief techniques and support through the contractions, allowed me to survive twelve hours of hard labor, before I gave in and asked for medicine. I had planned on a natural childbirth, but due to some health problems and how long labor was taking, the medicine was a huge relief. Trina was able to answer my husbands questions, and reassure him that all the things that were happening were normal. She helped to make sure that he was able to take part in the birth, and he ended up not only catching our little boy, he cut the cord and placed him on my tummy as soon as he was completely out.
We were able to use a birthing tub, which helped relax me a lot, and her coaching through my contractions honestly helped me make it through more than one! We also used an aromatherapy essential oil diffuser, which helped to promote stronger contractions and relax me mentally at the same time. We had 19 hours of labor total, working hard through the entire night, and after all that, we had a beautiful 8 lb baby boy. I would have Trina at any future births, if there are any! She was a wonderful help, to both my husband and I.
