Relevant volunteer or advocacy work: I have volunteered my services to women who have recently moved to Montreal from poverty/war stricken areas or who are living in other difficult situations. I worked as an activist for a rape crisis prevention center so have additional experience working with survivors.
Attends hospital births? All Hospitals I attend women at home until they feel ready to go to the hospital, provide continuous labour support, and stay at the hospital for 2-3 hours after the birth. Attends birth center births? No Birth Centers I have attended birthing center births but there are currently no birthing centers in the area. Attends home births? Any Home Birth Home births are not currently allowed in Cape Breton, however, I have attended home births outside of this geographical area.
Birth doula fee: Not specified Postpartum doula hourly rate: $15 Fee details: My birth fees include 3 prenatal home visits, the birth, and 1-2 post-partum visits. I prefer to discuss payment options with clients on an individual basis.
As a postpartum doula I must work a minimum of 3 consecutive hours. Additional travel costs might apply.
