I would never have a baby without a Doula again! My first birth was an intense 16 hour labor with the midwive suggesting medication over and over to give me a "break" and me constantly having to think about an re-prioritize what is important to me and having to yell back at them while stressing out and causing me now to easily progress, it was not peaceful at all. With my second I decided to try Stephanie as my doula and I am beyond grateful for how the experience went! From researching topics for me, giving me suggestions, opening her house to my family, teaching herself about my birthing methods, encouraging me, taking a lot of this-might-be-it calls and then the unmatched physical, emotional, and professional support she offered the entire time of my labor. She knew exactly what I wanted and expected and made sure the hospital staff understood and respected it. It allowed my husband to play the silent role he wanted and empowered me to have the most ideal birth that I could have. Her presence was calm and knowledgeable but strong enough to ensure I recieved MY birth. I cannot emphasize enough how much of a better birth it was with Stephanie supporting me- Thank you again for helping to being Amelia into the world!
Stephanie,
You were such a blessing to David and me during Hudson’s birth and I can’t say “Thank you” enough! To say you are a “Mama’s friend” doesn’t adequately describe the role you took during one of the most precious moments of our lives. The passion you have for helping mothers experience joy, fulfillment, and a sense of power during childbirth comes through in all your actions. The little things you did, like knowing when I needed chapstick, getting a cool towel for my neck, and always making sure I had a cold drink, made all the difference in the world. My mother in law commented on how sweet and thoughtful it was that you took the time to brush my hair and pull it back after the birth.
You were also aggressive without being pushy, you helped out in every way imaginable without making me feel like my personal space was being invaded, and you continuously reminded me how strong I was during moments of self doubt. You are well versed on all the ins and outs of what a Mama needs during the different stages of labor; physically and emotionally.
May God bless you and all the Mamas who you will surely be a blessing to in the future!
Thank you,
David and Misty Cornelius
Stephanie was an amazing source of strength for me during my labor and delivery. She offered not only advice on technique to make the labor process easier, but also offered words of comfort and encouragement. I did not believe I was strong enough to have a pain-free labor and delivery, but she gave me the strength that I needed! I would strongly recommend her for anyone considering a doula. I would have never made it without her!

Simply put, Stephanie was absolutely integral to the safe and natural delivery of our son. During my long labor (40+ hours), Stephanie worked seamlessly with my husband to provide the physical and emotional support I needed. She helped me change positions, encouraged me when I began to doubt myself because of the slow porgress, helped my husband to know how to better support me, provided a buffer between the hospital staff and myself, prayed with me, pinned back my hair just when I needed it, and so much more. She was respectful of my choices, very informative and educated when asked her opinion, a listening ear, an advocate, a friend, a stronghold, and a warm and kind soul. What more could one want in a doula?
