Dianne is a wonderful doula, who is passionate about her job and her clients. We interviewed several doulas and were most comfortable with Dianne. Upon our first meeting we immediately felt comfortable and confident with her. She is extremely professional yet personable and caring. She came to our home and we discussed the birth process, my goals, and our roles in the birth of our daughter. She put me at ease and helped to give me a better understanding of the birth process, hospital procedures, and my options as a patient and a mother. I had a beautiful, natural, unmedicated birth thanks to Dianne and my husband. They were by my side, encouraging me and guiding me through the process. I felt completely safe, cared for, and secure through out my labor. My husband and I both felt that she struck a good balance of being supportive yet non-intrusive. She had lots of helpful suggestions to ease and deal with the labor to help me get through the process. I could not have reached my goal without her. She lent a quiet strength and wisdom that brought both myself and my husband confidence in the labor and in the decisions we needed to make along the way, from when to call our midwife to when to head to the hospital. I would highly recommend Dianne to anyone and we plan to include her in the birth of any future children.
Dianne Lentine was a wonderful doula! While I wanted to have a natural un-medicated birth, I didn't honestly think I'd be able to do it. However, with her help, I gave birth to a beautiful 8lb 12oz baby girl without pain meds! Giving birth naturally was the most amazing thing I've ever done, and I know that I couldn't have done it without her support. The nurses/midwives were extremely busy, and my husband and I would have been alone (and maybe a bit scared) for a lot of my labor if we hadn't had Dianne. (My family wasn't really supportive of the no pain meds idea.) She was with me the whole time, and allowed my husband to get some rest and eat. She also gave us guidance, and different things to try throughout labor when my brain wasn't working properly... When it had been too long, and I had to have pitocin, I was convinced I had started down the multiple intervention, epidural, c-section highway... but Dianne was always calm and supportive, and most importantly, confident in my abilities - even when I wasn't. I read a lot about natural childbrith, so I sort of "knew" what to expect. However, during labor I pretty much forgot everything. I was extremely glad to have a very experienced doula at my side to help me achieve the birth experience I really wanted. Hiring a doula was the best decision we ever made, and I would whole-heartedly recommend Dianne to anyone who planning to have a baby. Regardless of your birth "plan," you can't go wrong having experienced help by your side!
Dianne was great! We selected her because of her many years of experience as a doula, and because she has five of her own children. We knew she had 'been there and done that' many times, and we sensed se would be a calm mom-like presence. I knew I needed someone there to keep me calm and a flighty doula or one with little experience would not do.
We had an unusually long and tough labor (over 36 hours with no epidural!), and Dianne stayed the whole time without complaining. She even brought in reinforcements. Lastly, our nurses were less than helpful during much of the labor, so it was great knowing Dianne was there to keep communication going with them and the doctor. We definitely recommend Dianne- and if she has to bring in reinforcements- her backup is fantastic too.
