I found during my toughest times in delivery, I looked to Andrea for calmness, took comfort in her, and her confidence to let me know what my body was doing to bring this beautiful baby into our lives. She knew my thoughts without me saying them. She knew what was going on at all times and what would happen next. I should also mention her art of knowing exactly where to apply pressure or massage during contractions was incredible. Her position recommendations even helped turn my son from posterior! I found her skill and knowledge to be priceless.
I didn't have a Doula for my first born, with the concern that another person would impose on the dynamic of how my husband felt as my support. I wish I never made that mistake! I feel Andrea brought my husband and I closer during the birth of our second and found she knew the times for suggestions, or instruction. He also feels that she was the best asset to our team.
Andrea is also a wonderful resource for information for pregnancy, labour/delivery, and babies. Anytime I had a question or concern about anything, she would have answers to discuss with me. I felt like no question or concern was unjustified, and find her knowledge is unsurpassed.
