Attends hospital births? All Hospitals I work well inside the hospital setting, where the majority of my clients choose to give birth. I believe in making this environment as calm and caring as possible. I very much appreciate the hard work of our Montreal nurses and doctors, and I give them all my respect while I work to help my client have the birth they envisioned. Attends birth center births? All Birth Centers I have worked with clients who have chosen to give birth at a birthing centre. This is a wonderful option for many women, and I support any client who wished to choose this path. The births I have attended at the Montreal birthing centres have been wonderful experiences for the parents. They received outstanding clinical care and wonderful emotional support. I am very much in support of the Montreal birthing centres. Attends home births? Any Home Birth I have worked with clients who have planned home births. I have found that women and families who choose this option feel most comfortable giving birth in their own environment. This can be a wonderful experience! As a doula I provide non-clinical care during birth. This means that any home birth I attend must also be attended by a midwife or another individual who is responsible for the clinical care of mom and baby.
Birth doula fee: $600 to $950 Fee details: As a member of ANQ, I am able to provide receipts for insurance purposes.
Client Testimonials for Sesch Wren
Allison Hanes
We were so fortunate to end up in the patient, caring hands of Sesch Wren for the birth of our daughter in June 2010. At first we were skeptical how helpful a doula would really be and wary an outside person might usurp my husband's role. I was also mildly tokophobic -- so freaked out about the prospect of giving birth that I couldn't even watch an instructional video. Sesch quickly won us over and then some. She helped me find the courage to face what was ahead. She was authoritative in her explanations of the physical challenges labour would bring, professional in her demeanour, and most importantly, a friendly, trusted presence we both relied on. My husband appreciated her calm, stalwart support. I benefited from her soothing words, actions and suggestions.
Under Sesch's care, I gave birth naturally and drug-free, on my hands and knees while leaning over a birthing ball! I now look back and know I wouldn't have wanted to do it any other way. My daughter's birth was a truly, beautiful and moving experience.
And I give Sesch all the credit in the world for guiding us through one of life's most bewildering and overwhelming experiences with grit and grace.

I had my second baby 14 months after C section. I had it naturally, without epidural or any unnecessary medical interventions. My dream came true. For all of this I am very greatfull to Sesch. She not only knows what she is doing, I'd say she is born to be a doula. I was not the first time mother, however, my first birthing experience was quite traumatic and I absolutely needed someone who could support me in my choices, provide the information, not to disturb me with unnecessary worries (which doctors very often do) and be there when I need help: before, during and after the birth. Sesch was everything I did hope for and even more. She is very competent, confident, skillful, gentle and a wonderful person too. During my pregnancy she has taken time to know me, to understand my needs, my wishes and my personality. Therefore during the labor she was reading my mind. I did not need to ask - she understood what I need and helped me in a way that was best for me. Sesch knows how to interact during the labor, how to ease the labor and how to give you stregth to go trough it. After the birth Sesch has visited us several times, checked me and my baby, and.. made meals for our whole family. All through this wonderful journey she has been the greatest support. And I cannot express how much I appreciate all she has done for us.

Sesch was such an invaluable source of support for both my husband and I during the birth of our son. Despite the difficulties and unexpected complications her lovely, warm and kind nature gave us the confidence and trust to overcome each of the challenges and enabled our birth experience to be a positive and memorable one. Thank you so much Sesch for helping us bring our baby to the world!
