Client Testimonials for Abigail Garratt
Viktoria Bissett
After having a traumatic and difficult labour with my first child, I decided that I wanted to do everything possible to ensure I had a better experience with my second baby. Having a doula seemed to be the best way to ensure that my labour experience was more positive not only physically, but also emotionally and psychologically. Abigail was an amazing support before, during, and after the birth of my daughter. I met with her several times before labour so that I could discuss what kind of labour experience I wanted and how best to acheive it. The great thing about Abigail is that she is never pushy and she doesn't try and tell you how you should handle your labour. She is there to help you acheive the experience YOU want and to make sure that everyone else involved knows that as well. My husband didn't understand at first why I wanted a doula, he thought that he could do everything that she could do. But afterwards he realized that having Abigail there really was a huge benefit for not only me, but him as well. Having another woman with you during labour is a huge benefit because they understand what you are going through. My first labour, without a doula, was stressful, scary, and I felt like I had no control over what was happening to me. With my second, I was able to have a much more positive experience. Instead of feeling disappointed and overwhelemed, I felt empowered and strong, and Abigail helped me to acheive that. She is so supportive and positive and that makes a world of difference when you are bringing a child into the world.

I highly recommend Abigail as a birth doula. She was amazing for the birth of our son. My partner and I felt empowered and comforted by her knowledge and presents at our home and then later at the hospital. We cannot say "Thank you" enough. During the moments in labor that were particularly difficult, her calming but strong voice was in my ear helping me to get through it. Her guidance and support helped us to experience childbirth as a family the way we had dreamed of it. We believe that the support of our doula made that more achievable. Again, Thank you! Love, Sarah & Mitch
